The Corporate Electrical Engineer reports directly to the VP of Engineering and Technology. The position is a staff role in the corporate office that supports all Eagle Materials business units for items that are related to the following:

Job duties will require travel to support program activities, on average about 3-5 days per month.
Work History requirements
5-10 years of experience working in heavy industrial market. Preference for the experience to be a consultant within an engineering firm that also provides construction services.
Responsibilities
- Define project scope and objectives: Work with Eagle Materials stakeholders to translate broad business goals into detailed, actionable project plans.
- Project development: Provide input for specifications, drawing production, cable schedules, schematics, loop sheets and material take-offs. Analyze existing power system and develop electrical scope that ensure adequate power capacity to support project load requirements. Develop single lines and preliminary concepts for power distribution. Manage contractors that perform power studies and preliminary design.
- Safety: Ensure safety of new systems, equipment, and design. Manage update of arc flash studies and operating procedures.
- Contract oversight: Work with Legal group during contract negotiation and execute contract in a timely manner.
- Project execution: Management of 3rd party contracts to deliver the projects on time and on budget.
- Operations support: Provide engineering services to operating facilities for planning, troubleshooting, and maintenance as needed.
- OEM Management: Maintain working relationship with our electrical equipment suppliers and 3rdparty contractors.
- Program report: During all phases of a project, develop and maintain all reporting matrixes and KPIs as it pertains to electrical scope.
- Professional development: Maintain and broaden technical and management skills.
Desired Work Experience and Specific Skill Set
- FEED study experience - developing and reviewing electrical power studies from substation to consumer, including cost estimate input and review.
- Distribution, grounding, and electrical room design and layout
- Cable schedule and sizing plus cable tray layout
- Transformer, switchgear, VFD, motor control, MV and LV Motor specification and procurement
- Project management capability for electrical scope only projects.
- High level of understanding about product manufacturing for cement, wallboard and paper.
- Lead or manage a group of technical professionals
- Ability to lead and/or perform inspections and arc flash studies.
- Mentoring less experienced plant engineers or technical professionals
- Schedule development and management of internal and 3rd party resources
- Aid in project commissioning
- Demonstrated communication skills. (Status reporting, meeting facilitating, action lists, etc.)
- Highly organized and self-directed

Education requirement
Accredited bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
