Overview

The Corporate Counsel provides legal support to the organization across a broad range of corporate matters, including commercial transactions, regulatory compliance, risk management, and general legal advisory services. This role partners closely with business leaders to manage legal risk, support strategic initiatives, and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The Corporate Counsel will have significant involvement in commercial contracting and environmental, heath and safety compliance matters while supporting other corporate legal activities as business needs evolve. This position offers exposure to multiple legal disciplines and serves as a developmental opportunity for early-career attorneys.

This position is located in Alpharetta, GA, and requires you to be on-site daily.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, revise, and negotiate a variety of agreements and legal documents.
  • Provide legal guidance to internal stakeholders on corporate, operational, and regulatory matters.
  • Support environmental, health and safety compliance efforts by researching and interpreting applicable federal and state environmental, health and safety laws and regulations impacting operations.
  • Assist operational teams with legal matters related to permitting, reporting requirements, regulatory inspections, environmental, health and safety audits, compliance and enforcement matters, and corrective action plans.
  • Support compliance initiatives related to environmental, health and safety programs.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety), Human Resources, and Finance, on legal and compliance matters.
  • Conduct legal research and analyze laws, regulations, and industry developments affecting the organization.
  • Assist with legal due diligence by reviewing contracts, permits, licenses, litigation matters, environmental liabilities, employment matters, and other regulatory compliance records.
  • Review and assess legal implications of business initiatives, policies, and procedures.
  • Coordinate with outside counsel on specialized legal matters and litigation support as needed.
  • Support dispute resolution, claims management, and internal investigations.investigations.
  • Maintain legal documentation and ensure accurate recordkeeping.
  • Additional responsibilities as needed to support the team and company goals.


Qualifications

Education, Experience, Certifications
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction or ability to obtain licensure as required.
  • 1-3 years of legal experience in a law firm, corporate legal department, or relevant legal setting.

Environment
  • This role operates primarily in an office environment but may require occasional travel to manufacturing facilities, distribution centers, and project sites. While in operational environments, adherence to all safety regulations and PPE requirements is mandatory.
  • This position requires you to be in office 5 days a week.

Travel
  • Periodic travel may be required to support business needs. Travel is expected to be less than 25%.
