Full Job Description

Purpose of Job:

This role serves as counsel to various business partners of the Enterprise with a heavy focus on transactional work.  The Corporate Counsel will assist with negotiating a variety of commercial contracts and supporting to maintain Enterprise operations compliant with applicable laws.

Job Components:

  • Primarily draft, review, edit and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including supply agreements, sales contracts, licensing agreements, sale and purchase agreements, consulting agreements, leases and other commercial agreements.
  • Develop, implement, and refine contract templates as needed.
  • Stay abreast of relevant laws and regulations, providing legal interpretations, and assisting in the drafting of policies and procedures.
  • Provide practical guidance to various business units regarding the legal risks associated with certain activities or initiatives.
  • Assist in managing small scale litigation matters which may include preparation of responses and negotiation of settlements.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work on a broad variety of legal matters.
  • Ability to travel.

Work Environment:

  • Ability to use a computer for prolonged periods of time.
  • Must be able to come into the office a minimum of three full days a week.
  • Ability to sustain posture in a seated position for prolonged periods of time.
  • Regularly required to use hands to grasp or handle, and talk and hear.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move 20+ lbs.
  • Warehouse environment when traveling in field (temperature fluctuations).
