Full Job Description
Labcorp is searching for a Corporate Compliance Officer to support the specialty testing business of the Labcorp Diagnostics segment as a member of the Corporate Compliance Department. The Corporate Compliance Officer, Specialty Testing will serve as the lead compliance business partner for Labcorp's specialty testing offerings in women's health, oncology, neurology, and autoimmune. The Corporate Compliance Officer will be responsible for implementing, managing, and continuously enhancing Labcorp's compliance program within the specialty testing business. This role will deliver proactive guidance and support to advance Labcorp's mission of improving health and improving lives in accordance with the company's policies and procedures, as well as applicable laws, regulations, and high ethical standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Strategic Guidance and Day-to-Day Support
  • Build collaborative relationships and serve as a trusted compliance advisor to specialty testing leadership, laboratory operations, medical affairs, and sales/commercial personnel.
  • Provide proactive compliance guidance and support on a broad range of diagnostic testing arrangements with hospitals/health systems, physicians, medical clinics, and other clients.
  • Lead compliance-related due diligence and integration activities for specialty testing business-related acquisitions.
  • Engage with other departments, including Human Resources, Marketing, Finance, Information Technology, Payer Solutions, Revenue Cycle Management, Real Estate, Law/Contracts, Science and Technology, and Quality to advance cross-functional initiatives and projects in support of compliance and business objectives.
  • Engage with senior Corporate Compliance leaders to ensure consistent communication, reporting, and alignment on compliance activities and initiatives with the assigned specialty testing areas.


Internal Investigations
  • Conduct thorough internal investigations into potential compliance program violations and other allegations of misconduct, including those arising from governmental inquiries, internal and third-party audits, and/or Compliance Action Line reports.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Human Resources, and other stakeholders to appropriately remediate compliance issues and implement correction action plans.
  • Prepare summaries, maintain investigation records, and support reporting to senior compliance and legal leadership.


Compliance Training and Communication
  • Assess needs and implement compliance training and communication activities to ensure a thorough understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and Labcorp policies and procedures that apply to the specialty testing business.
  • Monitor state and federal healthcare laws, regulations, and policy developments that apply to Labcorp's specialty testing businesses.
  • Engage with specialty testing teams on Corporate Compliance enterprise-wide initiatives to promote a culture of ethics and compliance.


Auditing and Monitoring Support
  • Support compliance audit activities within the specialty testing business to identify gaps and areas for improvement.
  • Implement ongoing monitoring programs focused on key compliance risk areas, including healthcare provider financial relationships and coding/billing arrangements.
  • Work with specialty testing business and operational leaders to strengthen processes based on auditing and monitoring outcomes.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 7 years' experience in healthcare compliance-related role


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC), Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC) and/or Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP).
  • 3+ years' experience working in the clinical laboratory or diagnostic industry
  • 3+ years' experience with implementing the Office of Inspector General's "seven elements" of an effective corporate compliance program for healthcare organizations, including policies and procedures, training, auditing, monitoring, and conducting internal investigations.
  • 3+ years' experience working on compliance issues related to molecular and genetic testing services.


Additional Job Standards:
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to express complex information to personnel at all levels in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong business acumen and experience working with healthcare provider organizations, preferably clinical laboratories or diagnostics companies.
  • Knowledge of state and federal healthcare laws, regulations, and standards relevant to clinical laboratory compliance programs, including healthcare fraud and abuse (e.g., Stark Law and Anti-Kickback Statute), HIPAA/data privacy, Medicare/Medicaid coding and billing requirements, and CLIA/CAP requirements.
  • Capacity to work independently and simultaneously handle a variety of complex matters with minimal supervision.
  • Experience taking ownership of issues and providing practical advice
  • Ability to prioritize and undertake mission critical tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team player with excellent judgment and the highest ethics and integrity.


The position is also eligible for an annual bonus under the Labcorp Bonus Plan. Bonuses are payable based on corporate and/or business segment performance and are subject to individual performance modifiers. Compensation may also include discretionary short- and long-term incentive packages.
