Corporate Communications Manager (Permanent)

Expected Salary: $88,641 to $116,341

To determine final salary, Babcock considers a variety of factors including the successful Candidate's skills and experience and internal equity. The final base salary offer is at the Company's sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.

Description

In this role, you will:

Strategic Planning:
  • Create communications plans and strategies that align with company goals, vision, and brand identity.
  • Manage communications programs, including content for town halls, keynotes, thought leadership, media opportunities, and internal or external presentations
  • Build and manage reporting practices around KPIs, continuously improving based on insights and feedback


Internal Communications:
  • Oversee internal messaging to employees, including newsletters, intranet content, and company announcements.
  • Maintain editorial quality and alignment with brand voice and visual identity
  • Manage the communications content calendar
  • Oversee the production the internal corporate vlogs


Media & Public Relations:
  • Engage with media stakeholders, manage media inquiries, draft press releases, and maintain strong media relationships.
  • Proactively conduct media outreach, shape stories, and secure coverage.


Reputation & Crisis Management:
  • Monitor public perception, identify risks, and lead crisis communications to protect the company's brand. Advise leadership on messaging during sensitive, high-pressure situations.


Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Build relationships with key audiences, analysts, and stakeholders.
  • Consult with cross-functional teams to align communications efforts with business priorities and ensure message consistency
  • Manage and mentor junior members of the Communications team


Content Creation:
  • Produce high-quality, on-brand content for various platforms, including websites, social media, and marketing materials
  • Support major corporate initiatives with messaging frameworks, FAQs, content, and communications assets
  • Monitor industry and competitor trends to ensure Babcock's messaging is current, differentiated, and market-relevant


The ideal candidate brings:

  • 8+ years in corporate communications, public relations, or marketing.
  • Degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent understanding of corporate communications and executive visibility strategies
  • Demonstrated experience building integrated internal communication plans, including channel strategy, messaging frameworks and leader communication toolkits.
  • Experience leading projects, managing, or mentoring team members.
  • Demonstrated experience with budget management and vendor relations.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms, website publishing and media monitoring software.
  • Experience operating in a fast-paced, matrixed global organization
  • You are eligible for a Canadian Secret Security and ITAR Clearance
