Job Description:

Location: This position will also travel to the Warren, New Jersey office as required.


Key Responsibilities
Communications Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and implement an integrated corporate communications strategy that advances the company's brand, mission and business goals.
  • Partner with senior executives to align messaging across all functions, ensuring consistency and clarity throughout the organization.
  • Manage communications budget, third party relationships and vendor contracts to maximize efficiency and impact.
  • Proactively identify reputational risks, develop mitigation strategies and advise leadership on sensitive communications matters.
  • Manage communications during regulatory, legal, or operational incidents to protect the organization's reputation and stakeholder trust.

Media Relations & Public Affairs

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with journalists, editors and media outlets across print, broadcast and digital channels.
  • Serve as a primary company spokesperson and media contact; prepare and coach executives for press interactions, interviews and public speaking engagements.
  • Oversee the development and distribution of press releases, media statements, bylines and thought leadership content.
  • Monitor media coverage, analyze trends and provide regular reporting on earned media performance and share of voice.

Executive & Internal Communications

  • Develop compelling communications on behalf of C-suite leaders, including speeches, presentations, town halls, op-eds and board materials.
  • Design and oversee internal communications programs that reinforce company culture, values and strategic priorities across the employee base.
  • Collaborate with HR and People Operations on change management communications for organizational transformations, M&A activity and workforce announcements.

Marketing, Business Development & Digital Presence

  • Plan and execute client events, sponsorships and industry engagements that build brand visibility and strengthen key relationships.
  • Develop and produce marketing and sales materials to support new business origination and reinsurance partnership efforts.
  • Maintain and update the company website, LinkedIn and other digital and social channels to ensure a consistent and current brand presence.

Job Requirements/Qualifications:

Salary: The base range is $158k - $247k. Salary determination are based on various factors, including but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location.


Qualifications
Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in corporate communications, public relations, or a related discipline, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role.
  • Prior experience working within an insurance organization is required (e.g., carrier, reinsurer, MGA, broker, or related insurance/financial services entity).
  • Demonstrated track record managing complex media relationships and driving earned media coverage at a national or global scale.
  • Proven experience leading crisis communications, including developing response protocols and managing high-stakes situations under pressure.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft executive-level narratives and simplify complex topics for diverse audiences.
  • Strong executive presence with experience advising C-suite leaders and building trust at the highest organizational levels.

Preferred

  • Experience in the insurance, financial services, or professional services sector.
  • Familiarity with digital communications platforms, content management systems and social media monitoring tools.
  • Experience with investor relations communications or ESG/sustainability reporting.
  • Multilingual proficiency or experience supporting global communications programs.
