Overview:

Pembina Pipeline Corporation's Calgary's office is actively hiring for an Advisor for the Category Management - Corporate team to manage the Contingent Workforce and Management Consulting portfolio. This position reports to the Manager, Category Management - Corporate in the Tech Services & Supply Chain business unit part of Pembina's Operations division.

Guided by Pembina's values, Supply Chain collaborates across the Organization ensuring that all supply chain activities are executed with the highest standards of ethics and integrity and are in strict adherence to Pembina's policies. Supply Chain delivers strategic value to the organization by optimizing technology for material acquisition, inventory carrying, transportation, and planning costs.

The Advisor will provide dedicated support to the Contingent Workforce and Management Consulting categories. On a day-to-day basis, the Advisor works closely with all the Category Management team members (Corporate, Services, and Materials), as well as the Governance & Compliance and Business & Operations pillars of the Supply Chain team.

  • Support business and operations planning sessions to assess, enable and inform development and deployment of category strategies for the Contingent Workforce and Management Consulting areas;
  • Build and maintain strong internal relationships with key stakeholders to advance strategic sourcing and contracting initiatives in support of business requirements;
  • In consultation with the Supply Chain Performance team, perform spend analysis (gathering, cleansing and analyzing data) to identify and prioritize opportunities;
  • Document category and sourcing strategies and draft charters;
  • Evaluate incumbent supplier performance, perform targeted market intelligence research, evaluate potential supplier alternatives, and manage communications with suppliers;
  • Analyze year-to-date supplier spend against forecasts to identify impacts, while conducting category analysis, benchmarking, and performance assessments;
  • Assess operational, commercial, legal, and supplier risk and ensure application of the appropriate contracting and commercial strategies;
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to assess, define, and negotiate a variety of Service agreements;
  • Lead end-to-end sourcing and contract execution activities, including development of negotiation positions, commercial recommendations and award documentation;
  • Develop, negotiate, implement and manage master agreements and support contracting activities performed by other Supply Chain teams;
  • Support and manage the implementation of multi-year contracts with strategic suppliers, including defined commercial benefits and performance metrics;
  • Provide support and review deliverables from critical contracting, process oversight and management and sourcing activities;
  • Develop, maintain and support supplier lifecycle performance processes;
  • Support administrative requirements for Categories, including updating project plans, scheduling stakeholder meetings, progress reporting, etc.;
  • Ensure strong working relationships with various other departments and Pembina's joint venture partners;
  • Provide policy, standards and sourcing strategy interpretation to stakeholders' enterprise-wide; and
  • Participate and support an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace.


Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Commerce, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; a professional supply chain designation is considered an asset;
  • Minimum 3 years related work experience in Supply Chain Management, specifically performing the sourcing/procurement function;
  • Knowledge of SAP S/4 including Ariba and SAP Analytics Cloud is considered an asset;
  • Experience in corporate contracting and sourcing, including understanding business needs, market trends, and supplier performance; considered an asset;
  • Solid understanding of supply chain principles, including strategic and transactional interdependencies across functions;
  • Strong commercial understanding of staff augmentation practices, with experience leading cross-functional teams;
  • Trusted advisor and mentor to supply chain stakeholders and peers;
  • Detail-oriented and analytical with strong communication, organization, and work ethic; adaptable in fast-paced environments with a global mindset and ability to apply insights locally;
  • Understand the principles of TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) and application of appropriate lever at category and sub-category level; and
  • Build strong, long-term partnerships with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
