03rd September, 2026Own Something from Day OneA growing and highly reputable company in the heavy equipment sector is standing up its own corporate benefits function for the first time, and it needs someone to lead the build. This is not a maintenance role inheriting someone else's system. You will help establish a brand-new broker relationship, a new medical carrier, and a benefits program to support a distributed workforce across multiple affiliated companies. If you want a seat where your fingerprints are on the plan design conversations, the vendor relationships, and the employee experience from the start, this is that seat.
What Success Looks Like - Within the first year, the transition from the prior benefits arrangement to the new broker-and-carrier relationship is complete, accurate, and free of major service disruptions for employees.
- Employees across the organization and its affiliates know who to call with a benefits question and trust that it will get resolved.
- Leadership has clean, reliable reporting on enrollment, cost, and utilization trends to support renewal and plan design decisions.
- You are seen as someone who can walk into a room with senior leadership, including the C-suite, and hold your own on a benefits business case.
Key Responsibilities - Own day-to-day administration of medical, dental, vision, life, disability, wellness, and voluntary benefit programs.
- Serve as the primary vendor relationship owner for the broker, carrier, and third-party admin.
- Act as the go-to benefits resource for employees across the organization and its affiliates.
- Lead the reconciliation of carrier invoices and billing statements, partnering closely with finance.
- Ensure the program stays compliant with ACA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, and related regulations.
- Build and deliver reporting on enrollment, plan utilization, and cost trends for HR & leadership.
- Provide light administrative support on the company's 401(k) program in partnership with the internal payroll team.
Job Requirements - Solid experience administering Health & Welfare benefit programs, including direct work with a third-party administrator and a payroll/HRIS platform.
- Working knowledge of ACA, ERISA, COBRA, and HIPAA.
- Comfort partnering with internal finance teams on billing reconciliation and cost reporting.
- Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and lookups.
- Comfort supporting more than one internal stakeholder group across a distributed organization.
- Ability to build a business case and present it confidently to senior leadership.
- Background from an organization of a comparable size (roughly a few hundred employees), ideally with a predominantly salaried, professional workforce.
- Benefit plan design experience, Power BI experience, and prior experience transitioning between carriers or vendors are all a plus, though not required.
