Responsibilities

  • Partner with the VP of Finance and executives for financial insights and decision support
  • Lead and mentor the accounting team to foster collaboration and continuous improvement
  • Oversee utility program revenue accounting and contract review processes
  • Support development and monitoring of budgets and financial performance metrics
  • Coordinate external audits and regulatory reporting requirements

Full Job Description
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Direct and oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, revenue recognition, payroll accounting, AP/AR, and month-end close processes
  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements
  • Design, implement, and maintain strong internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures to support audit readiness and organizational growth
  • Partner closely with the VP of Finance and executive leadership to provide financial insights, risk identification, and decision support
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration
  • Oversee utility program revenue accounting, contract review, and cost allocation practices common to energy efficiency program administrators
  • Support development and monitoring of budgets, rolling forecasts and program-level financial performance
  • Coordinate external audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting requirements
  • Support system enhancements and process automation initiatives to improve accuracy, efficiency, and scalability
