Location: Canton, Ohio | Pay range: $80,000-$110,000
Experienced accountant or bookkeeper ready for a stable, hands-on role with real impact? If you're tired of public accounting hours or want to move from a larger firm into private industry, join our growing janitorial company in Canton, Ohio. We're looking for a Controller/Senior Bookkeeper who can own the day-to-day accounting while also supporting financial reporting and strategic decisions.
What You'll Do
You'll report directly to the CFO and play a key role in the company's accounting operations.
• Manage accounts payable & accounts receivable
• Reconcile bank statements and cash accounts
• Prepare general ledger entries & month-end adjustments
• Assist with payroll processing and accuracy checks
• Support monthly reporting & account reconciliations
• Assist with audit preparation and financial documentation
• Maintain organized financial records
• Support accounting and finance projects as needed
What We're Looking For
- 3-7+ years of progressive bookkeeping or accounting experience
- Public accounting or CPA firm background strongly preferred (not required)
- Bachelor's or Associate's degree in accounting, finance, or business preferred
- Strong Excel and accounting software skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organization
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving ability
- Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines
