Job SummaryThe Plant Controller is a key member of the plant leadership team, responsible for overseeing financial integrity, performance, and compliance. This role is a strategic advisor to the Plant Manager and the Region Controller, providing insights that support operational decision making and driving business results. They ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, leads budgeting and forecasting processes, manage internal controls, supports capital planning, and champion continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives. This position reports to the region controller.
What you will be doing- Successfully completes monthly closing cycles to properly reflect the financial position of the plant including P&L, capital base, and cash flow operations.
- Directs and oversees monthly physical inventory processes.
- Provides financial analysis, support and guidance to all line managers and the Plant Manager.
- Monitors the financial policies, practices, and procedures of the operation.
- Directs the activities and provides leadership to procurement employees, ensuring all company values are inherent in daily performance of responsibilities.
- Manage capital spending requests, including calculating payback and developing sound business cases to present to management requesting capital funds.
- Act as the liaison between plant and region/corporate finance teams to ensure alignment consistency and transparency in reporting and decision making.
- Partners with the Plant Manager and department leaders to develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and performance metrics, and drive accountability to financial goals.
What will make you successful?Required Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- Minimum of eight (8) years of progressive accounting experience, with a focus in cost accounting and managerial experience.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience with systems such as Oracle, SAP, AS400, Hyperion, ADP, Ultimate, or other ERP platforms.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
- CMA or CPA certification.
- Ability to collaborate with Plant Manager, operations, supply chain and HR to align financial strategy with operational goals. Use data to influence long-term planning, identify cost savings and assess capital investments.
