Job DescriptionController Global Fixed Assets - Decatur, ILJob Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Fixed Asset Accounting COE Lead to join our Record to Report (RTR) team in ADM's North America HQ capability center. The ideal candidate will be responsible for establishing and leading a large, globally matrixed team performing Fixed Assets and Lease Accounting activities, monthly closing, CIP monitoring and Balance Sheet reconciliations. This role ensures consistent execution, compliance and continuous improvement across all regions and business segments.
Key Responsibilities:- FA Operations: Lead global team to execute Capitalization, Disposals and Transfers, CIP aging and monitoring, Lease Accounting, month end close processes, reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, and other processes performed by the FAPA (Fixed Asset and Project Accounting) COE team to ensure tasks are performed correctly, with proper support and per policy and/or established process.
- Process Controls: Define, maintain, review, and control process documentation to ensure it is up-to-date and compliant with company standard. Develop a program to continually audit these processes to ensure adherence to ADM standards/controls related to these tasks. Ensure completion of SOX relevant controls as applicable.
- KPIs: Develop actionable KPI's for Fixed Assets and Lease Accounting, and ensure they are met consistently with a focus on improvement opportunities.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Ensure stakeholder feedback is being heard and implemented. Apply a proactive approach to problem solving and working with cross functional team members in finance/operations in geographically dispersed locations and time zones.
- Process Improvement: Drive standardization, simplification and automation of global Fixed Assets end-to-end processes, with a continuous improvement mindset, and provide recommendations for ownership and positioning of key processes across Finance, Tax, Audit and Plant Operations.
- Team Building: Build a high performing team by providing direction, coaching and performance management. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement. Ensure team members are exposed to appropriate growth opportunities and develop robust succession plan.
Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in related field such as Accounting, Business Administration or equivalent work experience is preferred
- CPA or Qualified Accountant (CA/ACCA) is preferred with 12+ years of experience in RTR domain; Agricultural industry experience would be a plus.
- Minimum 7 years of operational experience in Fixed Assets accounting
- Minimum 5 years of supervisory/management experience with a transformative style of leadership; experience in leading and developing global teams
- Deep understanding of US GAAP, SOX and internal controls frameworks.
- Ability to adapt to rapid and emerging changes in the business and technological environment.
- Skill in influencing stakeholders at all levels of the organization to implement changes.
- Focus on achieving set goals and objectives, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently, collaborate effectively, and deliver high-quality results within deadlines
- Proven track record of successfully implementing continuous improvement initiatives and performance in complex organizations.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.
