We are seeking a strategic, hands-onControllerto lead a growing finance team with a background in real estate, construction or home building. This is afully in officerole based inCalgary, AB.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the monthly close process and deliver accurate financial statements on schedule.
- Prepare management reporting, variance analysis, and executive dashboards.
- Oversee financial reporting for all related entities and provide profitability analysis to support business decisions.
- Ensure financial obligations are managed accurately and on time.
- Develop annual budgets, forecasts, and financial models supporting business planning.
- Maintain the integrity of the ERP system and continuously improve financial processes, reporting, and data quality.
- Oversee internal controls, tax compliance, audits, banking requirements, and regulatory reporting.
- Partner with Operations, Sales, and senior leadership by providing financial insights and supporting cross-functional initiatives and special projects.
Qualifications- CPA designation.
- 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including leadership responsibility.
- Experience leading month-end close, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash management.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian accounting standards, tax compliance, and internal controls.
- Experience with ERP systems and financial process improvement.
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience in residential construction, real estate development, or a project-based environment is considered a strong asset.
