Position Title: Controller
The Controller plays a vital role in overseeing the financial health of the organization. This position involves managing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring compliance, and supporting financial reporting for senior leadership. The Controller will also lead initiatives aimed at operational improvements across various functions. Salary Range: $90,000-$150,000+ / Year DOE
Controller Responsibilities: - Manage day-to-day accounting operations using QuickBooks
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
- Prepare financial reports for ownership and senior leadership
- Manage vendor relationships, invoice review, payment controls, and expense tracking
- Reconcile legal services activity and related account-level charges
- Assist with cash management, bank reconciliations, lender reporting, and borrowing base support
- Work with banks and financing partners supporting the company's loan portfolio
- Support audits, compliance, budgeting, forecasting, and special finance projects
- Help prepare reporting and infrastructure for potential securitization activities
- Lead operational improvement initiatives across accounting, finance, servicing, and administrative functions
- Develop, document, and standardize SOPs to improve consistency, scalability, and accountability
- Identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements across accounting and operations
- Reduce manual work and strengthen internal controls and reporting accuracy
Controller Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field preferred
- 5+ years of relevant accounting, finance, controllership, banking, lending, or servicing experience
- QuickBooks and strong Excel experience required
- Experience in specialty finance, lending, banking, private credit, or loan servicing is preferred
