Full Job Description
The Opportunity
Autoscribe is seeking an experienced, analytical, and hands-on Controller to lead our accounting function. This role is central to the financial integrity of our business-overseeing high-volume transaction accounting, ensuring accuracy in earnings and cost of goods sold, and strengthening the systems that support our growth.

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Controller will play a key role in financial strategy, operational execution, and decision support. This is a high-impact leadership position ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-moving, detail-driven environment and wants to help shape the financial future of a growing organization.

What You'll Do

Accounting Operations & Oversight
  • Lead all day-to-day accounting operations including AP, AR, general ledger, and payroll
  • Ensure accuracy, efficiency, and scalability of accounting processes

Payment Reconciliation & Transaction Integrity
  • Oversee reconciliation of high-volume payment flows and trust account disbursements
  • Ensure precise matching of incoming funds, processor settlements, and merchant payouts
  • Serve as a critical control point for transaction accuracy and financial integrity

Financial Reporting
  • Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
  • Deliver clear, actionable financial insights to leadership

Internal Controls & Compliance
  • Partner with the Chief Compliance Officer to strengthen internal controls and fraud prevention measures
  • Ensure compliance with PCI-DSS, SOC 2 standards, and applicable regulations

Treasury & Cash Management
  • Manage cash concentration and movement from trust accounts
  • Oversee forecasting and liquidity planning to support operational needs

Tax & External Coordination
  • Act as liaison with external tax partners to ensure timely and accurate filings

Strategic Finance & Business Support
  • Analyze program and campaign performance, including yield and profitability
  • Support annual budgeting, variance analysis, and financial planning
  • Provide insights that guide growth and operational decision-making

Team Leadership
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team
  • Build a culture of accountability, precision, and continuous improvement

What You Bring

Education & Credentials
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
  • CPA, CMA, or CCM strongly preferred

Experience
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • 4+ years in a leadership or supervisory role
  • Experience in fintech, payment processing, or high-volume transaction environments strongly preferred

Technical Skills
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting systems
  • SQL or data querying experience is a plus

Knowledge
  • Strong command of GAAP
  • Familiarity with tax considerations including Section 179
