The OpportunityAutoscribe is seeking an experienced, analytical, and hands-on
Controller to lead our accounting function. This role is central to the financial integrity of our business-overseeing high-volume transaction accounting, ensuring accuracy in earnings and cost of goods sold, and strengthening the systems that support our growth.
Reporting directly to the CEO, the Controller will play a key role in financial strategy, operational execution, and decision support. What You'll DoAccounting Operations & Oversight- Lead all day-to-day accounting operations including AP, AR, general ledger, and payroll
- Ensure accuracy, efficiency, and scalability of accounting processes
Payment Reconciliation & Transaction Integrity- Oversee reconciliation of high-volume payment flows and trust account disbursements
- Ensure precise matching of incoming funds, processor settlements, and merchant payouts
- Serve as a critical control point for transaction accuracy and financial integrity
Financial Reporting- Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Deliver clear, actionable financial insights to leadership
Internal Controls & Compliance- Partner with the Chief Compliance Officer to strengthen internal controls and fraud prevention measures
- Ensure compliance with PCI-DSS, SOC 2 standards, and applicable regulations
Treasury & Cash Management- Manage cash concentration and movement from trust accounts
- Oversee forecasting and liquidity planning to support operational needs
Tax & External Coordination- Act as liaison with external tax partners to ensure timely and accurate filings
Strategic Finance & Business Support- Analyze program and campaign performance, including yield and profitability
- Support annual budgeting, variance analysis, and financial planning
- Provide insights that guide growth and operational decision-making
Team Leadership- Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team
- Build a culture of accountability, precision, and continuous improvement
What You BringEducation & Credentials- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
- CPA, CMA, or CCM strongly preferred
Experience- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience
- 4+ years in a leadership or supervisory role
- Experience in fintech, payment processing, or high-volume transaction environments strongly preferred
Technical Skills- Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting systems
- SQL or data querying experience is a plus
Knowledge- Strong command of GAAP
- Familiarity with tax considerations including Section 179
