Position Title: Control Systems Engineer - Alaska 2x2 Rotation

Purpose:

Provides onsite day-to-day operations, maintenance, and system lifecycle support for the DeltaV distributed control system. Executes specific tasks from defined goals, often without clear definition. Applies control system technology to the control requirements of the process and related equipment. Implements and tests process control strategy and graphics modifications. Maintains consistency, adheres to project and department standards, utilizes appropriate tools while executing assignments, and provides proper documentation for work performed. Works within assigned technical scope, budget, and schedule constraints, with direct responsibility for results.

The 2 X 2 rotational program affords a unique schedule providing two weeks off each month and is complimented with an enhanced financial package.

Key Responsibilities:
• Serve as the on-site DeltaV Control Systems Engineer for customers on the north slope of Alaska.
• Maintain and modify Emerson DeltaV control systems, including implementing control logic, configuring process graphics, and support customer acceptance reviews to demonstrate the solution meets the customer process and functional requirements.
• Perform preventive maintenance activities such as installing hotfixes and endpoint protection updates, identifying and correcting system diagnostic errors, and verifying system backups.
• Provide day-to-day support for operations, maintenance, and engineering personnel.
• Explore new opportunities with the customer to provide improvements in operations, maintenance, process performance, and efficiency.
• Collaborate with sales teams in discussions as a product or service technical expert for existing and prospective customers.
• Deliver quality solutions and services and act as an extension of the customer team.
• Proactively learn to apply new automation products on a regular basis
• Adhere to company and customer safety practices.

Required Skills/Qualifications:
• B.S. in Chemical, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent industry working experience.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience with Emerson DeltaV and DeltaV SIS systems required
• Knowledge of automation and distributed control systems including instrumentation, PLCs, and HMIs
• Proficiency in interpreting P&ID, electrical schematics, network architectures, and process control descriptions
• Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Server operating systems
• Proficiency with Microsoft operating systems administration
• Proven ability to troubleshoot problems in a logical and timely fashion
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interface with internal and external customers

Compensation:

Base Wage Range:

$55.00 - 65.00 hourly. For candidates with significant DeltaV and field experience, the starting wage could be higher.

Alaska 2-week on / 2-week off Program: Employees will receive an additional 20% pay incentive over their base wages.

Total Estimated Annual Compensation for experienced individuals is anticipated to be between $265,000 - $300,000 inclusive of overtime and performance bonus.

Schedule and Role Structure:

This position offers a 2 week on / 2 week off schedule, working 12-hour days.

Alaska state overtime rules will apply. Working more than eight hours per day and/or more than forty hours per workweek is considered overtime and will be paid at time and a half.

All travel time to and from Alaska is paid, and all travel expenses are reimbursed.

Employees in the Alaska 2-week on / 2-week off schedule will be classified as Alaska employees, including W-2 forms, payroll taxation, and state-specific leave plans. Alaska does not currently have a state income tax.

Physical Working Conditions:

Working Conditions:

The ability to carry a laptop and other computer equipment or supplies. Most work is performed in an industrial facility that may have significant noise. This role requires working on the north slope of Alaska which can have challenging weather conditions and travel conditions. The position requires the ability to fly and drive a vehicle. The role will require the use of personal protective equipment, which is provided by the Company.
