Full Job Description
Control Cell (White Cell) Member in Newport, RI to support operational planning education, training, and wargaming activities in Newport, Rhode Island. The selected candidate will support operational-level maritime and joint force exercises, helping students apply planning concepts within a realistic command-and-control environment while contributing to the development of future military planners and leaders. Position Type: Full-Time Salary: $95k-$105k annually (depending on experience) Work Location: Full-time onsite Essential Functions: • Serve as a Control Cell (White Cell) Member, collaborating with faculty to ensure exercise planning, execution, and scenario development support curriculum objectives. • Support the planning, coordination, execution, and assessment of operational-level military exercises, simulations, and wargames. • Provide instruction on Maritime Operations Center (MOC) doctrine, missions, functions, tasks, and operational planning processes. • Facilitate student learning in maritime and joint operational planning, command and control, and decision-making. • Develop exercise scenarios, injects, event timelines, and supporting training materials. • Execute war games and exercises utilizing procedures contained in NWP 5-01, NWP 3-32, NTTP 3-32.1, JP 3-32, and related doctrine. • Monitor exercise execution and adjust scenarios as necessary to maintain realism and training effectiveness. • Prepare briefings, exercise materials, after-action reports, and training assessments. • Coordinate with faculty, military personnel, and exercise support teams to ensure successful execution of training events. • Research, analyze, and present operational concepts, planning considerations, and lessons learned. • Other duties as assigned or required. Requirements Required: • Experience supporting operational planning, military education, wargaming, exercises, command and control activities, or related defense operations. • Knowledge of joint and maritime operational planning concepts and military doctrine. • Ability to analyze operational problems and develop realistic training scenarios. • Experience facilitating training events, exercises, or military professional education programs. Education: Master's Degree in Operations Research, National Security and Strategic Studies, International Relations, or a related field; OR Graduate of the Maritime Staff Operators Course (MSOC); OR Equivalent military operational planning experience may be considered in lieu of advanced education. Security Clearance: Must be eligible to obtain a Secret clearance.
