Job Description

Are you an experienced Contractor Special Security Officer (CSSO) who is ready to make your mark on an exciting space contract? Join our team here in sunny El Segundo, CA where you'll craft and enforce comprehensive security plans across security domains, maintain a secure environment for classified programs, and drive day-to-day Personnel Security actions for SCI and SAP activities. Your expertise will be crucial in managing controlled documents, presenting Security Awareness Training, and investigating security incidents, all while contributing to the advancement of our projects.

What you will do on the job:
  • Assist with the preparation of security plans, reviewing applicable guidelines, and established procedures for all areas of security including Personnel Security, Information Security, Physical/Technical Security, Classification Management, Communication Security (COMSEC), and Program Security.
  • Security management and operations: maintain a secure environment to facilitate the successful development and execution of classified programs at the assigned organization where classified information is stored, accessed, or where accessed personnel are assigned. Enforce strict adherence to applicable laws as well as national DoD, and other security policies and requirements.
  • Support "day-to-day" Personnel Security (PERSEC) actions for the facility and organization for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and Special Access Program (SAP) activities.
  • Maintain accountability of controlled documents and media to include active inventory lists, destruction receipts and transfer of documentation.
  • Present Security Awareness Training and Education (SATE) briefings.
  • Investigate security incidents and violations; prepare reports of investigations for the corporation and customers, making specific recommendations for corrective and preventive actions.


Qualifications

This is you:
  • Bachelor's degree with 10+ years related experience. 4 additional years of experience will be accepted in lieu of degree.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of National Industrial Security Operating Manual (NISPOM) / Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs) with a focus on ICD 705 series, DoD 5205.07 series, Executive Orders, etc.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office suite (MSWord, Excel, Power Point).
  • Experience utilizing customer databases such as DISS/JADE/SIMs.
  • Must have an in-scope security background investigation (T5 or SSBI), adjudicated for SCI eligibility and enrolled in the Continuous Evaluation program (if applicable).
  • Must be willing to be nominated for access to Sensitive Compartment Information and Special Access Programs and willing to consent to a Polygraph examination.
