Full Job Description
STS Packaging, a Schwarz Partners, L.P. Joint Venture company, is currently seeking a Continuous Improvement Manager in Charlotte, NC. The Continuous Improvement Manager is responsible for managing, developing, coordinating and evaluating all our manufacturing processes. This is a hands-on position where the manager shall assemble information, analyze information and prepare reports as necessitated by the various processes within our company. The manager will develop training materials and conduct training programs with all employees. The manager will establish and maintain a relationship with other managers, employees and customers.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS FOR THIS POSITION:
  • Develop, implement, and train on various processes throughout the facility (safety, quality, waste, maintenance, production, warehouse). Processes need to be documented, sustainable, trained and evaluated for all new hires and employees performing below established standards.
  • Identify opportunities to standardize and reduce waste/cost.
  • Work with plant staff and key individuals to develop and implement effective corrective actions to improve efficiency and sustainable output levels.
  • Learn, understand and become proficient in all converting equipment, operations, procedures.
  • Gain understanding of production workflow by studying the steps of scheduling, production process, reliability of equipment, resources, staff, procedures, quality expectations and fostering a spirit of cooperation between departments.
  • Demonstrate ability to lead people, set the right example and get results through others.
  • Report to GM any information that may impede the operation of the plant as soon as it becomes known and make recommendations to minimize impacts to the operation and budget.
  • Work with the maintenance manager to identify improvements to equipment that maintain OEM standards as well as modifications that provide benefit to uptime and cost.
  • Assist maintenance department in developing step by step procedures and PM's using MVP CRM software.
  • Follow all safety and company policies, reporting any issues, accidents, or incidents immediately; must complete online safety training each month as assigned.
  • Support the operations and maintenance department roles of the overall SQF program.
  • Review and utilize new technology and lean manufacturing principles and processes available to maximize and sustain efficiency.
  • Communicate clearly and regularly with managers and employees about business issues, including, but not limited to, safety, waste, productivity, housekeeping, and quality.
  • Exemplary attendance is required.


REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Computer Data entry skills.


PREFERRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
  • College Degree and or 3+ years in paper converting/flexographic printing
  • Previous experience analyzing and improving processes.


REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:

TECHNICAL SKILLS
  • Microsoft Office, including Excel
  • D365 System

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must have highly developed interpersonal skills
