Purpose of Job:

The Continuous Improvement Manager is responsible for identifying operational improvement opportunities across warehouse functions. This role leads cross-functional initiatives to optimize workflow, reduce waste, improve productivity, and strengthen operational consistency. The position partners closely with Operations, HR, and Sales to drive sustainable performance improvements.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Ensure all duties and responsibilities are completed as per Next's Standard Operating Procedures:

  • Use an existing business review conducted by an outside party as a starting point for improvement.
  • Evaluate current operational processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, throughput, accuracy, and cost control.
  • Lead improvement initiatives that enhance performance in receiving, picking, packing, shipping, inventory control.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor standardized operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency across shifts and locations.
  • Facilitate problem-solving sessions and root-cause analyses to address process gaps and prevent reoccurrence.
  • Track and report operational KPIs (e.g., productivity, order accuracy, turnaround time, inventory discrepancies).
  • Partner with managers and supervisors to design process changes and support adoption among frontline teams.
  • Create and deliver training on new processes, tools, or operational standards.
  • Support the integration of technology that enhance operational flow.
  • Maintain documentation of process maps, workflows, and improvement plans.
  • Participate in annual operational planning activities and provide insights on efficiency opportunities.
  • Build, coach and create a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.

Knowledge/Skill/Ability Requirements:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in data-driven decision-making, process mapping, KPI development, and performance optimization.
  • Exceptional communication, facilitation, and cross-functional collaboration skills, enabling effective partnerships across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Proven experience leading project management and organizational change initiatives in dynamic environments.
  • Established ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing teams, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Experience & Education:

  • A minimum of 8 years of progressive leadership experience in operations, logistics, supply chain, and customer experience.
  • A University degree in Supply Chain Management, Science, Engineering, or Business Administration is preferred.
  • Candidates with professional designations such as Lean Six Sigma, Project Management Professional (PMP), Professional Logistician (P. Log), or similar, are an asset.
  • Demonstrated success managing annual budgets, vendor negotiations, and cost-reduction strategies.


Physical Demands/ Working Conditions:
  • Able to perform effectively in fast-paced, high-pressure environments, maintaining clarity and sound judgment during complex operational challenges.
  • Comfortable working in mixed environments that may include on-site operational oversight, warehouse or logistics settings, and extended periods of computer-based work.
  • Capable of meeting physical requirements associated with operational site visits, including standing, walking, and lifting 25lbs unassisted.
