ABOUT THE ROLE

The Continuous Improvement Engineer will apply basic statistics, Six Sigma, and Lean techniques to monitor key processes and lead continuous improvement initiatives that reduce variation and streamline manufacturing. This position will work closely with the Plant Manager, Operational Excellence Leader, and multiple functions within Malarkey.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
  • Serve as a strategic subject matter expert for manufacturing processes, driving innovation and operational excellence.
  • Develop and implement advanced methodologies, tools, and best practices to optimize start-ups, changeovers, and troubleshooting, ensuring seamless and efficient production performance.
  • Act as a key liaison between engineering and operations to ensure seamless project transitions.
  • Drive manufacturability assessments, lead cross-functional collaboration, and proactively address potential operational challenges before project deployment.
  • Spearhead the creation, implementation, and governance of process maps, specifications, and control plans.
  • Oversee the continuous review and refinement of technical documentation to ensure standardization, compliance, and operational efficiency.
  • Lead and facilitate high-impact Kaizen events, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Identify systemic inefficiencies and spearhead data-driven initiatives to eliminate waste, enhance workflow, and minimize operational errors.
  • Design and implement dynamic, competency-based training modules that leverage digital tools, real-time analytics, and hands-on learning to enhance workforce skill development.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.


WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Education: Bachelor's degree

Field of Study Preferred: Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial

Required Work Experience: Five to seven years of continuous improvement experience in a manufacturing setting, preferably in continuous manufacturing operations, is required.

Additional Requirements:
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
