Full Job Description
Role:

Consulting Director

Location:

  • Clearsulting is headquartered in Cleveland, OH, with additional offices located in Chicago, IL; Columbus, OH; and Dallas, TX. Other cities are welcome remotely.
  • Office Options: Hybrid or Remote. Team members residing within a 45 minute commuting radius of a Clearsulting office, we expect 8 days of in-person work per month, allowing flexibility choosing these days to accommodate client meetings, team syncs and individual schedules.
  • Travel Expectations: 0-30%


What you'll do

  • Lead complex finance transformation engagements from strategy through execution, setting the delivery vision, shaping the solution and implementation approach, and ensuring measurable client outcomes across process, operating model, data, controls, and technology.
  • Provide senior oversight across one or more concurrent engagements, including scope, staffing, workplans, milestones, budgets, project economics, quality, risks, dependencies, governance, and change enablement; anticipate challenges and mobilize clients and Clearsulting leaders around practical solutions.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior finance and business stakeholders, translate strategic priorities into actionable programs and road maps, facilitate executive-level discussions, challenge assumptions constructively, navigate difficult conversations, and serve as an escalation point for complex delivery, commercial, and relationship matters.
  • Drive revenue and account growth by identifying client needs, shaping and qualifying opportunities, leading scoping and pricing, developing proposals, presenting solutions, supporting negotiations, and expanding relationships across existing and prospective accounts.
  • Build market differentiation and firm capabilities by developing reusable methods, tools, and intellectual capital; contributing to thought leadership and alliances; and translating market, industry, and technology trends into differentiated client solutions.
  • Mentor and develop Managers and project teams by setting clear expectations, delegating meaningful ownership, reviewing high-impact deliverables, providing timely and actionable feedback, supporting performance development, and preparing team members for increased responsibility.
  • Contribute to practice and firm priorities by partnering across offerings, supporting recruiting and onboarding, improving delivery and commercial processes, and modeling Clearsulting's Core Values and standards.

What You'll Bring:

  • 12+ years of experience solving finance, accounting, operations, technology, or transformation challenges in consulting, professional services, or an industry environment
  • 4+ years of experience leading and developing people, including Managers or multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Demonstrated experience leading multiple phases of complex client engagements, including scope, workplans, staffing, milestones, budgets, project economics, risks, governance, and change enablement.
  • Demonstrated functional or technical depth in one or more digital finance areas, such as financial close and reporting, accounting operations, source-to-pay and procurement, treasury, digital reporting and compliance, risk and controls, business advisory, finance transformation, or process improvement.
  • Experience advising senior or executive stakeholders, translating business priorities into practical recommendations, and communicating complex ideas through executive-ready presentations, written deliverables, and client discussions.
  • Demonstrated experience driving business development and account growth through opportunity identification and qualification, scoping and pricing, proposal development, presentations, solution demonstrations, negotiations, pipeline management, and relationship expansion in collaboration with commercial leaders.

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting, finance, business, information systems, engineering, data science, or a related field.

  • Experience applying functional knowledge in one or more digital finance areas, such as financial close and reporting, accounting operations, Source to Pay and procurement, business advisory, finance transformation, process improvement, or controls.
  • Experience implementing or using technology software such as: Blackline, Coupa, Kyriba, Workiva or similar tools.
  • Relevant professional or technology certifications, such as CPA, CMA, PMP, or platform-specific credentials.

The compensation range for this position is $150,000 - 200,000. We are committed to ensuring our offers reflect the value each candidate brings to the role. Final salary placement will be based on upon several factors, including, level of expertise, relevant work experience, technology certifications, educational background, geography and alignment with industry standards. This role is eligible for our bonus program.
