What you'll be doing

You'll be joining CIBC's Enterprise Technology team within CIBC, you'll be hands on with all aspects of the systems testing process and provide suggestions that will ensure client needs are met with the highest quality. As a Consultant, IT Quality Engineering, you'll be a team lead on CIBC's Technology team, assigning and overseeing the execution of test cases and providing coaching to your team members. You'll create test plans, develop strategies, and provide estimates that will help create the bank of the future.

How you'll succeed
  • Testing Expertise: Lead investigation and translation of business and technical requirements into comprehensive test cases. Design, manage, and execute end-to-end testing activities for various projects, ensuring alignment with project timelines and quality standards. Develop and maintain detailed test plans, schedules, and resource allocations. Develop, execute, and maintain automated test cases and test suites using automation tools. Track, report, and manage defects throughout the testing lifecycle, ensuring prompt resolution. Prepare and present regular status reports, test metrics, and risk assessments to project leadership. Ensure all testing activities comply with organizational policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Defect & Compliance Management: Manage defects throughout their lifecycle, ensuring timely resolution and documentation. Identify, manage, and implement remediation for any noncompliance items and deviations. Ensure adherence to QA/QE standards and support the implementation of new standards. Recognize and identify areas for process, policy, or tool improvement.
  • Automation Expertise: Design and implement automation strategies, tools, and frameworks to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness. Integrate automated testing scripts and strategies with DevOps tools.
  • Leadership Skills: Coach and mentor testing team members in business domain, functional testing, automation, and non-functional testing. Ensure compliance with CIBC's test methodologies and industry best practices. Proactively identify potential issues throughout all test phases and suggest improvements. Proactively Identify opportunities to enhance testing processes, tools, and methodologies.
  • Project Coordination: Lead and coordinate internal and external testing teams to ensure timely completion of test phases. Proactively identify and communicate obstacles or risks that may impact project timelines or success. Maintain open communication with stakeholders, provide regular status updates and escalate issues when necessary. Ensure all test deliverables are received, approved, and aligned to project timelines, budgets, and goals.
  • CROSS-FUNCTIONAL RELATIONSHIPS: Serves as the primary point of contact for all testing-related communications among project stakeholders. Collaborates with business stakeholders and technology partners to define and execute testing strategies. Coordinates with project managers, developers, and external vendors to ensure timely completion of testing phases and alignment with project objectives. Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.


Who You Are
  • You can demonstrate: 7+ years QA/QE experience, minimum 3~5 years of experience in a Test Coordination role, with proficient knowledge of Testing Life Cycle, SDLC, and Defect Management. 3~5 years of experience in automation or equivalent technical role. You must have strong Banking Applications knowledge and experiences or equivalent. Strong Mainframe and/or Hyperion Essbase (Cubes) knowledge and testing experience. Strong MS Excel experience and ability to build and use complex templates using advanced features, formulas and functions. Experience in data warehouse and ETL testing using Oracle, TOAD, PL/SQL. Experience in working with AI LLM's - GTP/Claude/GitHub Pilot/Databricks Genie. It's nice if you have: Experience in Finance or equivalent ERP systems (e.g. PeopleSoft, SAP). Experience with automation using Tosca DI and/or Azure Databricks Notebooks. Planning and Budgeting, Sales Performance and Incentives calculation system experience. Experience with Power BI.
