What you'll be doing

You'll be joining CIBC’s Capital Markets team, specifically within the Alternate Solutions Group (ASG). As a Consultant, Infrastructure Management, you’ll play a vital role in supporting and maintaining the test environment infrastructure for ASG, helping us deliver touchless banking services to digitally savvy, value-conscious clients. You’ll work with a team of experienced professionals, expanding your technical expertise and contributing to the bank’s agile and modular approach to strategy and technology. Your responsibilities include managing the lifecycle of issues and incidents using Jira, resolving technical challenges through troubleshooting bridges, and recommending infrastructure solutions that align with established standards. You’ll also create and support test environment deployments using ServiceNow, coordinate business-as-usual activities like operating system and application upgrades, oversee migrations from on-premises to cloud, and manage certificate renewals for internal and client-facing applications. In this role, you’ll lead other professionals and technicians, anticipate longer-term business needs, and devise new methods and procedures through strong analytical thinking.

How you'll succeed

  • Incident Management & TroubleshootingCollect incident details, conduct first assessments, coordinate troubleshooting calls based on application flow, engage internal and external support, communicate updates, drive timely recovery of the test environment, provide root cause analyses, and manage retrospective actions.
  • Certificate Management – Initiate timely certificate renewals for internal and client-integrated systems, maintain organizational certificate guidelines, and assist with onboarding new certificates.
  • Environment Documentation – Maintain up-to-date records of environment configurations, dependencies, and changes.
  • Environment Provisioning – Manage environment booking, maintain and improve booking tools, monitor environment updates, assist in environment preparation for projects, and ensure health checks through monitoring and alerts.
  • Change Management – Create change requests for deployments, data management, and infrastructure-related application changes in non-production environments.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration – Communicate clearly and promptly with stakeholders, collaborate with project managers, developers, QA teams, application operations, and clients, and provide regular notifications on test environment activities and updates.

Who you are

  • You can demonstrate relevant experience. You bring at least 5 years of experience managing test environments, with knowledge across incident and change management, SDLC methodologies, and technical skills including Operating Systems Management, Virtualization & Cloud Platforms (Azure, VMWare, OpenShift), certificate management, monitoring tools (Dynatrace, Splunk, Loki, Prometheus), network connectivity and latency, database operations, automation scripting, configuration management, ServiceNow, Jira, Confluence, and AI adaptability.
  • You’re familiar with SDLC methodologies. You understand both Waterfall and Agile approaches and can adapt your work accordingly.
