What you'll be doing

As a Consultant, Data and Analytics, you'll be part of a collaborative team focused on supporting governance, controls, and project management activities within CIBC's Data and Analytics group. In this role, you'll manage and track controls, oversee key project timelines, and coordinate deliverables to support the successful execution of critical initiatives. You'll play a key role in intake processes, prioritization, and driving process efficiency, ensuring that projects related to insights, models, automation, and reporting are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with governance standards. You'll work closely with team members and stakeholders to promote transparency, accountability, and consistent execution across the portfolio.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend at least 3days per week on-site in our Chicago office, while other days will be remote.

How you'll succeed

  • Governance & Controls Management – Oversee and track governance frameworks, controls, and audit or compliance processes to ensure all projects meet regulatory and internal standards.

  • Project Coordination – Manage project timelines, coordinate deliverables, and support the intake and prioritization of new initiatives to ensure timely and effective execution.

  • Reporting & Analytics – Support the development and delivery of reports, dashboards, and analytics to monitor project status, control effectiveness, and portfolio health.

  • Process Improvement – Identify opportunities to enhance project management, governance, and reporting processes, driving greater efficiency and consistency.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration – Partner with team members and cross-functional stakeholders to drive transparency, accountability, and alignment on project objectives and deliverables.

Who you are

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Data Analytics, or a related field. A Master’s degree is an asset.

  • You bring at least 3 years of experience in project management or project coordination. Your organizational skills help keep projects on track.

  • You have 3 years of experience in reporting, governance, controls, or data analytics. You understand the importance of oversight and compliance.

  • You are familiar with governance frameworks, controls, and audit or compliance processes. You ensure work meets quality and regulatory standards.

  • You have experience working within a Finance or Data & Analytics environment. You can navigate complex projects and stakeholder needs.

  • You have technical expertise with analytic tools such as SQL, Python, or visualization tools. Your skills help you deliver meaningful insights and reporting.

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of$86,600 - $95,500K for the Chicago, IL market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which may also include a discretionary bonus component.
