What you'll be doing As a member of CIBC’s Payments Transformation team, the Consultant, Business Delivery will be responsible for providing advice and consultation for business application and process developments, with a focus on payment modernization initiatives. You will play a key role in driving business delivery for payment-related projects, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and regulatory requirements. The role provides consultancy on interpreting complex information and participating in client business review sessions to influence decisions regarding the use of technology and process improvements. You will develop, recommend, and facilitate activities required for the application of new technologies to support existing and evolving payment processes and client needs. The role provides expertise to project managers, coordinators, and directors on technology functionality and utilization, leveraging a solid understanding of payments business dynamics. The role independently resolves a variety of ambiguous challenges with organization-wide impacts, devising new methods using strong analytic and inductive thinking.   • Understanding and Documenting Requirements - Work closely with business partners to gather complex business requirements for payment transformation initiatives and facilitate solution design discussions. Build strong relationships, lead discussions, listen, and ask the right questions to ensure solutions meet requirements. You will work primarily with stakeholders across payments, operations, and technology, with opportunities to support cross-functional initiatives.
  • Solution Design - Build client-focused solutions that meet business and regulatory requirements for payments. Prepare and validate solution design documents, including scope clarification, solution requirements, and quality assurance, with a focus on payments processes and systems.
  • Leading and Mentoring - Support end-to-end project implementation as a subject matter expert in payments, and provide guidance to a diverse team of technology and project professionals. Maintain a collaborative work environment and support team members to resolve organizational, operational, and process problems.
Who you are
  • You can demonstrate experience with: 5+ years in a Business Delivery, Business Analysis, or similar role, leading projects and designing solutions in the financial services sector. Experience with payments processing, payments modernization, or related domain knowledge is preferred. Ability to elicit requirements and write strong documentation. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills are a must. Strong analytical skills, data analysis, and gap analysis expertise required. Proficiency with Excel pivot tables, Visio, and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Payments knowledge is an asset. Experience or knowledge in payments products, payments processing, ISO 20022, wire transfers, or related payment modernization initiatives is preferred.
