You’ll be joining CIBC’s Core Banking and Payments Technology. As a Consultant, Back End Developer- Scala you’ll lead the technical design, development and integration of cross-functional, multi-platform application systems.

To successfully perform the work, you’ll be on-site full-time.You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote. 

How you'll succeed

• Design and Development- Perform and coordinate complicated application programming activities. Design the application's technical infrastructure using specific databases, programming languages, utilities, and testing approaches. Lead the design and development of cost-effective and innovative solutions. 
• Strategic Planning- Develop multi-year technology roadmaps that align with the bank’s vision, strategy, and business goals. Lead multiple complicated projects involving backend systems, new technology, and the enhancement of existing applications.
• Leadership Skills- Act as the development team lead and run code-review sessions with the wider team to ensure the project is on track to meet goals. Support and mentor intermediate and senior developers by sharing knowledge, collaborating and problem solving.

Who you are

• You can demonstrate 5-7 years experience: In hands-on developmenton Cloud (Azure), ETL (DataBricks, ADF, ADLS, etc.), Python/Scala, Databases (Oracle, SQL Server, Azure SQL MI), and Tools (GitHub, Azure DevOps, Autosys). Have experienced migrating infrastructure to latest currency (Infrastructure upgrades) including migration to Azure Cloud.
