The Department of Psychiatry at The MetroHealth System, a major teaching affiliate of Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Psychiatrist to join our growing behavioral health team as a Consult-Liaison Psychiatrist.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a psychiatrist who enjoys the clinical complexity, collaboration, and variety of practicing within a major academic medical center. Based primarily at MetroHealth's main campus, the successful candidate will provide primary coverage of the Psychiatry Consult-Liaison Service, with secondary coverage of Emergency Department psychiatric consultations as needed.

The Opportunity

As a Consult-Liaison Psychiatrist, you will work collaboratively with medical, surgical, emergency medicine, psychology, addiction medicine, and other specialty teams to provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluation and treatment for patients with complex medical and behavioral health needs.

The position offers opportunities to:

  • Provide psychiatric consultation for medically and surgically complex patients throughout the medical center
  • Support psychiatric consultation needs within the Emergency Department
  • Collaborate closely with Psychology, Addiction Medicine, and other multidisciplinary services
  • Participate in the development and advancement of clinical programs
  • Teach and mentor medical students, residents, fellows, and other trainees
  • Pursue academic, scholarly, and clinical research interests
  • Contribute to quality improvement and innovative models of integrated behavioral health care

A Growing Behavioral Health System

MetroHealth has made a significant commitment to expanding access to behavioral health services throughout Northeast Ohio. Our system includes a 112-bed behavioral health hospital in Cleveland Heights, featuring specialized adult behavioral health units.

Although this position is primarily based at our main campus, the Consult-Liaison Psychiatrist will be part of a comprehensive behavioral health system providing opportunities for collaboration across inpatient, outpatient, intensive outpatient, consultation, and emergency psychiatric services.

Experience or fellowship training in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry is welcomed but not required.
