Air Products is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to join our GEMTE Construction Americas Organization and play a critical role in delivering world-scale hydrogen, ammonia, air separation, and process gas facilities across North America. This is more than a construction management role-it's an opportunity to lead complex projects valued at $25 million and above, influence safety and execution excellence, and work alongside some of the industry's best construction professionals. What You'll Do: Reporting to the Manager of Mega Construction & TAR Projects, the Construction Superintendent provides direct oversight of field construction activities for major capital projects that Air Products will own and operate. You will be responsible for the successful execution of construction contracts, ensuring exceptional performance in safety, quality, schedule, and cost management. This is a 100% travel position with per diem. It includes a monthly trip home. Typical assignments are 1-2 years at a single location; however, the candidate should anticipate occasional, short-term assignments, weeks or months, between major projects. Residence on the Gulf Coast may be more convenient, but the candidate may live anywhere. Current needs are in the Texas, Louisiana, and Los Angeles areas, but assignments are not guaranteed. Candidates must be flexible regarding location. Mega projects typically have 2-5 years assignments. Check out some of our benefits below! 30 Affordable medical, dental and vision insurance available day 1 of employment 30 401(k) retirement savings plan with immediate vesting of company match and core contributions 30 Paid vacation, holidays, and sick time 30 Paid parental leave 30 Adoption assistance 30 Flexible spending accounts (medical, dependent daycare) 30 Health Savings Account 30 Life insurance (AD&D), supplemental AD&D 30 EAP (Employee Assistance Program) The Superintendent shall be capable of: 30 Driving and enforcing a progressive safety program with the goal of zero incidents. 30 Working with other Superintendents as part of a site construction team. 30 Planning and coordinating the activities of multiple subcontractors. 30 Managing construction contracts to ensure quality and that tasks are completed on time. 30 Clearing execution obstacles to provide opportunities for subcontractors to be successful. 30 Analyzing contractor progress and developing corrective action plans as required. 30 Managing RFIs, CCOs, and mitigating cost and schedule issues. 30 Collaborating with the AP Project team, subcontractors, inspectors, and others in a respectful and professional manner. 30 Reporting and forecasting progress utilizing construction productivity software. The Superintendent shall: 30 Display all characteristics of being a Leader of Safety on the site and with the workforce. 30 Demonstrate passionate entrepreneurial-style ownership of his/her SOW. 30 Execute work practices (e.g. Job Safety Assessments, Safety Audits, Quality Assurance, Security Protocols, and Progress Measurement). 30 Provide daily updates and weekly reports (e.g. weekly meetings notes, general updates, and contract administration, safety, quality, and progress issues). 30 Understand project timing needs and assess and monitor the plan and execution to achieve the required milestones. 30 Proactively and expediently communicate issues to the Air Products Project Manager and interact with Air Products Procurement Contracts Manager. 30 Manage the turnover of completed construction systems and commissioned system to Air Products. 30 Participate in efforts to improve group work processes and capabilities. Candidates for this position will be evaluated based on the following: 30 An attitude and demonstrated competency to deliver Safety on a construction site. 30 A demonstrated record of high performance with at least 10 years of heavy industry construction experience. 30 A track record of success in safety, quality, contract management, planning, and progress tracking. 30 Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills. 30 A strong commitment to employee involvement, team building and diversity. 30 Cross-functional experience in project management, construction strategy or constructability responsibilities within an EPC, construction estimating and take-off, and/or project controls is a plus. 30 Experience with P6, ProCore, and/or Go Completions is a plus. 30 Construction experience with Air Separation Units or Steam-Methane Reformers is a plus 30 Crane lift supervision is a plus 30 Bachelor's degree in engineering of construction is a plus.
