Full Job Description
Siemens Smart Infrastructure is seeking a Construction Sales Engineer to support the Charlotte NC market and surrounding area. In this role, you will own project-based revenue growth and market share expansion by developing strong relationships across the construction ecosystem, finding opportunities early, and positioning Siemens low- and medium-voltage power distribution solutions throughout the project lifecycle.You will develop and complete strategic territory and account plans and build a qualified pipeline. You will maintain the pipeline and deliver disciplined forecasts. You will influence project specifications and pursuit strategies. Coordination with consulting engineers, electrical contractors, distributors, end users, and Siemens sales teams is required. This individual contributor role reports to Regional Sales leadership.

  • Growing revenue and market share with accountability for measurable sales results.
  • Developing and driving sales plans that prioritize target customers, project pursuits, competitive opportunities, and actions required to grow share.
  • Building a qualified project pipeline; maintaining accurate opportunity data, project timing, next steps, risks, and forecast updates in designated sales tools.
  • Engaging across the full construction project lifecycle-from early design and specification through bid, award, execution, and follow-on opportunities-to identify and advance Siemens solutions.
  • Building trusted relationships with consulting engineers, electrical contractors, owners, developers, end users, distributors, channel partners, and other collaborators who influence project decisions.
  • Influencing basis-of-design and project specifications by providing technical and commercial guidance early in the project cycle.
  • Managing project pursuit activities in coordination with internal Siemens teams, including opportunity qualification, collaborator mapping, competitive strategy, solution positioning, and pursuit follow-through.
  • Engaging distributors and channel partners to improve opportunity visibility, coordinate account actions, and strengthen Siemens' position with contractors and project collaborators.
  • Acquiring new business and driving competitive conversions while expanding the breadth of Siemens solutions within existing accounts.
  • Partnering with siemens colleagues to advance opportunities involving switchboards, busway, medium-voltage switchgear, low-voltage switchgear, panelboards, motor control centers, circuit breakers, safety switches, and related power distribution products.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Must live in or be available for relocation to the sales territory.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and directly related experience; HS diploma or GED equivalency is the minimum education requirement when experience is substituted.
  • Power distribution sales, engineering, or project management experience related to electrical manufacturing, electrical distribution, contractor sales, or construction sales. 5+ years preferred
  • Experience managing customer accounts and developing or supporting project-based sales opportunities with electrical contractors, consulting engineers, construction-channel customers, distributors, or similar clients.
  • Working knowledge of low- and medium-voltage power distribution products such as switchboards, busway, switchgear, panelboards, motor control centers, circuit breakers, safety switches, or related equipment.
  • Ability to build customer relationships, manage multiple priorities, communicate effectively, and partner across internal teams to support customer outcomes.
  • Must be at least 18 years old with a valid U.S. driver's license in good standing.
  • Experience using sales tools or CRM platforms to manage pipeline, forecast opportunities, and document account activity.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% based on customer, territory, and business needs.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Formal education in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience working directly with consulting engineers, electrical contractors, contractor project managers, estimators, purchasing teams, owners, developers, or senior contractor leadership.
  • Ability to read an electrical single-line diagram
  • Experience influencing project specifications and selling low-voltage or medium-voltage power distribution equipment across construction project cycles.
  • Experience developing strategic account plans, leading project pursuit activity, and working with internal groups to move complex opportunities forward.
  • Demonstrated success developing new business, converting competitive specifications or accounts, and growing market share through contractor and channel engagement.

The pay range for this position is $74,970 - $156,794 annually plus an uncapped commission structure. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
