Full Job Description
As Construction Project Manager, you will own the delivery of our new factory buildout in Austin, TX. Serving as AHC's day-to-day owner representative, you will manage our contracted general contractor, coordinate our in-house architecture, engineering, and manufacturing teams, and drive the project from preconstruction and permitting through construction, commissioning, and handover. You will be responsible for delivering a safe, on-budget, on-schedule facility built to support full-rate production.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Own delivery of the factory buildout from preconstruction through commissioning and turnover.
  • Serve as AHC's primary point of accountability with the general contractor, design team, consultants, vendors, and other project partners.
  • Coordinate construction and installation of base-building and process systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, compressed air, dust collection, life safety, and process utilities.
  • Coordinate permitting, inspections, and approvals with the design team and authorities having jurisdiction, keeping regulatory requirements off the critical path.
  • Execute the facility layout in partnership with manufacturing engineering to support material flow, production efficiency, and future expansion.
  • Own the integrated project schedule, track the critical path, manage milestones, and hold the GC and vendors accountable to the plan.
  • Own project cost control, including budget tracking, forecasting, GC buyout review, pay applications, allowances, contingencies, and change orders.
  • Review scope, constructability, sequencing, and proposed changes to identify risks and savings without compromising safety, quality, or schedule.
  • Hold the GC accountable for site safety, code compliance, quality, documentation, and execution in accordance with the contract documents.
  • Establish and track project KPIs, including schedule adherence, budget variance, change-order exposure, quality, and closeout performance.
  • Lead commissioning, punch-list completion, documentation, training, and turnover of building and process systems to operations.
  • Provide leadership with a clear and accurate view of project status, risks, decisions, and forecasted cost and completion dates.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 7+ years of experience in construction management, project management, or owner-side capital project delivery, ideally in a manufacturing, industrial, or heavy-production environment.
  • Direct experience delivering a factory, industrial facility, or complex commercial buildout from preconstruction or design through commissioning and turnover.
  • Proven ability to manage a general contractor, consultants, and vendors, including contract administration, change-order management, pay-application review, and schedule control.
  • Strong working knowledge of building and process systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, structural, life safety, and process utilities.
  • Strong financial acumen and demonstrated experience managing multimillion-dollar capital budgets, forecasts, contingencies, and cost-to-complete.
  • Familiarity with building codes, OSHA requirements, NFPA standards, permitting, inspections, and authorities having jurisdiction.
  • Strong constructability, sequencing, risk-management, and problem-solving judgment.
  • Proficiency with construction management and scheduling tools; experience with CAD or facility-planning tools is a plus.
  • Ability to lead across multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
  • Highly organized, decisive, and capable of holding contractors and partners accountable while maintaining productive relationships.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related technical discipline preferred, not required.
  • PE, PMP, CCM, or LEED certification is a plus.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
  • This is a full-time, in-person role based in Austin, Texas, with regular presence required at the factory site.
  • As AHC scales, this role has the opportunity to expand into facilities management, broader construction management, or other roles across the company.
