Position OverviewThe Construction Manager serves as the Owner's on-site representative and is responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, execution, and delivery of construction projects. This individual works closely with owners, design teams, contractors, and project stakeholders to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with quality expectations. The Construction Manager provides leadership throughout the construction lifecycle while proactively identifying and resolving project challenges.
Key Responsibilities- Act as the Owner's primary construction representative throughout design, construction, and closeout.
- Review and evaluate contractor schedules, budgets, staffing plans, and execution strategies for alignment with project requirements and Owner objectives.
- Monitor project progress, risks, and performance, and provide recommendations for issue resolution.
- Coordinate with Owners, designers, construction managers, and contractors to facilitate communication and project execution.
- Perform site observations to assess schedule status, quality, safety, and general compliance.
- Review RFIs, submittals, change requests, safety programs, and quality plans.
- Support change management efforts and contractor negotiations through impact analysis and recommendations.
- Prepare and present project status reports covering cost, schedule, quality, safety, and risk.
- Support project closeout activities, including punch list review, turnover documentation, and final acceptance.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of commercial construction management experience with increasing responsibility.
- Experience managing large-scale commercial, industrial, pharmaceutical, healthcare, or higher education projects.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, codes, and industry best practices.
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents, drawings, and specifications.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
