Full Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Construction Manager, T1/T3 Revitalization to join our team. This position is based on-site, out of Mississauga. We are seeking professionals to join our team to help us build one of the most advanced, sustainable and passenger-friendly airports in the world.
Major Requirements:
• Manages the owner's oversight activities with respect to construction coordination and inspection, with the focus being on greenhouse gas / net-zero related projects
• Works collaboratively with the contractor's construction management team to coordinate the delivery of the works.
• Manages the owner's construction management team incl. Deputy Construction Manager and Construction Inspectors for the sub-program.
• Provides subject matter expertise with respect to construction management and general project delivery matters.
• Supports design management to confirm suitability for procurement and construction.
• Participates in constructability, scope management, and value engineering reviews during design.
• Oversees the contractor's construction activity to determine and report on whether program specifications are followed.
• Actively manages, monitors, and reports on the status of the project construction progress and schedule.
• Supports the commercial process as part of the contractor's application for payment and invoicing.
• Oversees the post-construction process to facilitate handover to operation and conducts warranty reviews.
• Performs claims review and recommends steps to resolve claims.
• Coordinates with safety, quality, and inspection teams.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, candidates must possess, at a very minimum:
• University Degree + 8 years of relevant experience in construction management with a focus on large greenhouse gas / net zero related infrastructure projects.
Demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education may be considered.
Preferred Requirements:
• Professional designation in a relevant field considered an asset.
• Typically possesses a minimum of 15 years of professional experience in construction management, with a strong focus on delivering greenhouse gas reduction and net-zero projects valued over CAD $500 million.
• At least 10 years of experience on major international airport projects or equivalent large-scale infrastructure programs.
• A minimum of 10 years of on-site experience in highly regulated, complex, and operationally active environments.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in the successful delivery of complex projects and programs.
• Comprehensive technical expertise across all project phases-design, planning, construction, operations, and maintenance-with a preference for large-scale or program-level experience.
• Experienced in collaborative project delivery environments, with working knowledge of progressive contracting models such as Progressive Design-Build and Target Price.
• Strong track record in stakeholder management, with the ability to produce clear, actionable reporting to support informed decision-making.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the facilitation of meetings and workshops with diverse stakeholder groups.
Additional Information
This position requires work on-site/out of the office 5 days a week.
