GFT is seeking a Railroad Construction Manager to join our Construction Services group in any of the following GFT locations: Kansas City or St. Louis, MO; Omaha, NE; Chicago, IL; Fort Worth, TX.
What you'll be challenged to do:
Inspect and oversee construction work to ensure that procedures and materials comply with plans and specifications, perform quality control inspection and documentation on railroad projects, material testing oversight, construction cost tracking and estimates, and coordinate between construction project stakeholders. This role requires 90% travel.
In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- General construction knowledge
- Research plans, specification, material testing procedures and local agency requirements
- Prepare and maintain daily and periodic documentation and records throughout the project
- Visits to project sites to inspect and document field work performed
- Preparation of technical reports
- Provide observation and inspection of the construction work and contractor operations
- Maintains the daily log of construction and inspection activities and compares progress reports
- Maintains construction safety practices and work methods for compliance
What you'll bring to our firm:
- Minimum high school diploma
- 5+ years of general construction experience
- Ability to travel 90% of the time
- Valid drivers license required
- Must successfully complete background check and drug screening
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
What we prefer you bring:
- Experience in highway or railroad construction
- Proficiency with construction management software (Procore, HeadLight, etc.)
- Construction Management or Civil Engineering Degree
Compensation:
The salary range for this role is $90,000 -$125,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
