Overview/Summary:The Construction Manager will support the safe, compliant, and efficient execution of engineering, construction, and manufacturing improvement initiatives within an operating manufacturing facility. This position will provide day-to-day oversight of construction activities, coordinate contractors and subcontractors, monitor project progress, and work closely with Production, Maintenance, Planning, Logistics, Quality, EHS, and other site stakeholders to ensure construction work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements.
Key Responsibilities: - Provide day-to-day supervision and coordination of construction activities within an operating manufacturing facility.
- Ensure alignment between construction activities and key site stakeholders, including Production, Maintenance, Production Planning, Logistics, Quality, and EHS.
- Develop, maintain, and adjust construction work plans to support on-schedule and within-budget project execution.
- Provide regular progress reporting and identify potential pinch points, delays, or execution issues.
- Develop and implement mitigation action plans to address schedule, productivity, or field execution concerns.
- Coordinate contractors and subcontractors performing construction and installation activities.
- Conduct field inspections and quality checks to ensure work meets project requirements.
- Review contractor work progress and invoices.
- Verify required permits are in place and ensure safe work practices are being followed.
- Monitor construction progress and contractor productivity.
- Manage punch lists, project turnover, and construction closeout activities.
Required Qualifications: - Degree in Construction Management, Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering, or relevant technical certification.
- Manufacturing or industrial construction experience.
- Experience managing packaging line projects.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety.
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience managing construction activities within an active manufacturing or production environment.
- Experience coordinating multiple contractors and subcontractors across concurrent work activities.
- Experience supporting packaging line installations, upgrades, or other manufacturing capital projects.
- Familiarity with construction permitting, safe work practices, contractor safety requirements, and EHS procedures.
- Experience reviewing contractor progress, productivity, invoices, and project schedules.
- Strong field leadership skills with the ability to identify construction issues and coordinate corrective or mitigation actions.
- Experience managing punch lists, turnover documentation, and project closeout activities.
