Hill International is seeking a Construction Logistics Specialist IV in Los Angeles, California

The Construction Logistics Specialist IV is responsible for supporting the team in conveying and coordinating construction activity between airport operations and multiple projects and contractors. This individual will collect, organize and review phasing and logistics for construction conflicts within a project and across all projects collectively. The Construction Logistics Specialist IV will provide guidance for mitigating conflicts in advance of construction.

Responsibilities

  • Identify areas of potential overlap of work and make recommendations concerning opportunities for more efficient and less disruptive packaging and/or procurement of the work
  • Stay current with the scope and schedule for all current and future airport projects
  • Extract look-ahead data concerning barricades, utility shutdowns and other actions that would impact LAWA and/or Tenant operations
  • Interface with utility shutdown experts and engineering technical support to make recommendations for timing of utility shutdowns
  • Provide review and comment on Area Shutdown Request ensuring adherence to the LAWA Standards
  • Recommend procedures and protocols to the CALM Manager
  • Develop appropriate tracking and record keeping tools
  • Provide progress reporting documents and briefing materials as required
  • Attend multiple daily project meetings to gather activity information
  • Read and interpret project plans and schedules
  • Ensure activity impact information flows among project stakeholders
  • Read, understand and interpret project schedules and Gantt charts
  • Liaison with third-party entities whose construction efforts may overlap
  • Contribute to the advancement of program goals through commitment to productive collaboration with all stakeholders
  • Work closely with CALM Manager to ensure information is accurately portrayed and up to date
  • Produce Monthly and Yearly Team reports for Executive Management to highlight team accomplishments
  • Supports CALM Manager for all project-related data for Coordination and Logistics Management (CALM) Team within the Airport Development Group at LAX in order to minimize construction-related impacts for both tenants and passengers while preventing construction conflicts and expensive redesigns for all terminal improvements


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, aviation, business, engineering, construction management, planning or other related technical field required. Master's degree preferred
  • 20 years or more experience, preferable on airport building programs or similar complex building programs
  • Relevant Professional Licensure and/or certifications are strongly preferred
  • Experience combining and formatting multiple digital file document types to clearly and concisely present compiled information
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite software (SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Experience using Bluebeam
  • Problem solver with a strong ability to prioritize and switch gears in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong writing, editing, proofreading, layout and design skills are essential, including
  • ability to present concepts verbally
  • Proven accuracy, reliability, priority setting, and completeness in job accomplishment
  • Excellent written communication skills and ability to communicate complex issues to a non-technical audience
  • Must be able to work under pressure on high-profile complicated assignments
  • Ability to understand intent and process across various construction delivery methods
  • Superior project management and time management skills
  • Team player who demonstrates a willingness to learn
  • Geared to share information and communicate with team members
  • Ability to read design plans, maps and interpret construction language
  • Knowledge of wayfinding concepts and mapping technologies are essential skillsets
  • Experience with technologies and best practices across multiple platforms
  • May assume other duties as required/needed
  • May work overtime
  • Maybe required to work various shifts as needed

The salary range for this position is $139,000 - $169,000. The offered salary will be based on the applicants qualifications, education, experience and work location.
