Position: Configuration Management Specialist
Level: Junior to Mid

Location: Newport, RHODE ISLAND

Telework: Hybrid remote/onsite, with typical set schedule at Government facility

Travel:
Salary: $73k-$92k

Position Summary:

We are seeking a Configuration Management Specialist to support submarine network modernization efforts. In this role, you will manage hardware and software configurations in the laboratory environment while maintaining accurate documentation for interfacing connections, subsystems, applications, and network systems. You will also track updates and ensure baseline accuracy across builds, testing, and ongoing program activities.

Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Manage hardware and software configurations for laboratory racks, security settings, software images, and overall network inventory to keep the test environment aligned with current program requirements.
  • Maintain comprehensive, up-to-date documentation covering interfacing connections, subsystems, applications, hardware layouts, and all configuration changes.


  • Track software updates, Information Assurance Vulnerability (IAV) releases, and other configuration changes to ensuretimelyincorporation and full visibility across the program.
  • Support system builds and integration testing by configuring laboratory equipment according to approved load plans, test procedures, and technical instructions.
  • Ensure baseline accuracy by processing Configuration Management Transmittals, updating documentation and software asrequired, and providing clear status reports on all configuration activities.


Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's orMaster's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field
  • Two (2) years of experiencemaintainingconfigurationmanagement of laboratoryenvironment consisting ofnetworking hardware andenterprise software
  • Active Secret clearancerequiredwith eligibility for Top Secret/SCI access and work in classified environments including SIPRNet and NATO systems.

  • Experience in Navy PreventativeMaintenance System (PMS), RHEL,Windows Server, Windows Client,VMWare, Ansible, Cisco, NETSEC,CMProand JIRA
  • Experience developing DoDconfiguration management documentation
