Overview

Stellar Solutions is seeking a Configuration and Data Manager to support configuration management and data management activities for space, ground, software, or hardware systems within major defense acquisition environments. This role helps maintain disciplined control of technical baselines, program documentation, configuration items, and change processes that enable effective engineering governance and mission execution.

Role/Responsibilities/Qualifications

This role supports the integrity, visibility, and control of program technical baselines across engineering review and configuration control processes. The Configuration and Data Manager will work closely with government and vendor stakeholders to manage change requests, maintain authoritative documentation, and ensure configuration items remain current, traceable, and aligned with government direction.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Support Configuration Management and Data Management activities across space, ground, software, or hardware systems.
  • Manage and facilitate Government Engineering Review Boards and Configuration Control Boards for change request handling.
  • Identify, analyze, and report issues affecting the technical baseline.
  • Provide assessments and recommend solutions to resolve configuration and baseline issues.
  • Manage program documents in accordance with government-directed control board actions.
  • Maintain Interface Control Documents, Requirements Documents, Engineering Change Proposals, and related program artifacts.
  • Develop or maintain a baseline repository of configuration items such as ICDs, Engineering Memos, Requirements Documents, and Spec Trees.
  • Coordinate change control processes across vendor and government review board environments.
  • Support documentation and requirements configuration management activities.
  • Help strengthen configuration management plans, processes, charters, and technical baseline discipline.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience supporting Configuration Management and Data Management activities in space, ground, software, or hardware systems for Major Defense Acquisition Programs.
  • Experience managing and facilitating Government Engineering Review Boards and Configuration Control Boards for change requests.
  • Experience identifying, analyzing, and reporting technical baseline issues.
  • Experience providing assessments and recommending solutions to resolve baseline issues.
  • Experience managing program documents in accordance with government-directed control board actions.
  • Experience with Interface Control Documents, Requirements Documents, or Engineering Change Proposals.
  • Experience developing or maintaining a baseline repository of configuration items.
  • Ability to understand and manage different change control processes between vendors and government review boards.
  • HS diploma or GED.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience developing configuration management plans, processes, and charters.
  • Experience with documentation and requirements configuration management.
  • Experience with space-based remote sensing systems.
  • Experience with Atlassian tools such as Jira or Confluence.
  • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint.
  • Experience using a Model-Based Systems Engineering approach to manage system definitions and technical baselines.
  • Knowledge of DoD 5000.01 or DoD 5000.02.
  • Configuration Management Training Foundation CICM Certification.

Clearance & Additional Requirements

  • TS/SCI clearance required.

Compensation:

The typical annual salary range for this position is approximately, USD $115,000 - $143,000. Individual pay is determined by many factors including work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. In addition to salary, this position is also eligible for a discretionary annual performance bonus, profit sharing / retirement plan and other benefits (all in addition to annual base salary).

Deliverable(s)

Deliverables could be in the format of a report, software file, briefing, spreadsheet, or other document as directed by the Government, using government approved and/or mandated systems/software and processes governed by guidance/instructions/policy or direction. The nature of this work will, at times, require quick responses to stringent deadlines and always in a high quality, professional manner.
