Your Role:

The Complex Litigation Analyst is responsible for analyzing and interpreting insurance policy language, legal authorities, and claims to support the resolution of litigated and non-litigated coverage matters involving personal lines products. This role provides expert guidance to claims partners on coverage issues, ensures alignment with applicable laws and regulations, and identifies potential risks or complexities requiring escalation. The analyst collaborates with cross-functional teams, monitors legal and regulatory developments, and contributes to training and process improvements, while maintaining deep expertise in coverage interpretation and industry practices. This role does not involve claims adjusting or payment authority.

Your Work:

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary coverage advisor for complex personal lines matters, providing guidance within established coverage frameworks while clearly delineating escalation thresholds for highly complex, novel, commercial, or enterprise-impact coverage issues to Complex Litigation Specialists.
  • Review, analyze, research, and assist in the resolution of litigated and non-litigated coverage and extra-contractual claim matters involving personal lines products.
  • Evaluate policy language, claim facts, legal authorities, and applicable state laws to identify coverage issues and recommend appropriate courses of action.
  • Provide guidance and consultation to casualty and homeowner claims personnel regarding coverage questions and moderately complex coverage matters.
  • Escalate highly complex, novel, or high-risk coverage issues to senior specialists and leadership as appropriate.
  • The Complex Litigation Analyst does not adjust, assess, or issue payment on claims.
  • Participate in special projects and workgroups involving claims, coverage, products, regulatory changes, and process improvements.
  • Monitor legal, regulatory, and case law developments and communicate relevant impacts to claims partners and leadership.
  • Support the development and delivery of coverage and product training materials for claims personnel and business partners.
  • Maintain current knowledge of insurance products, policy forms, coverage interpretations, and industry trends.

Required Experience, Education and Skills

  • 4+ years of claims, legal, insurance coverage, or related professional experience.
  • High School diploma required.
  • Experience supporting litigated claims or coverage-related matters.
  • Experience handling casualty, homeowner, or coverage-related claim matters.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze policy language and legal authorities.

The national average salary range for this position is $89,865.00-$99,850.00. However, we have a location-based compensation structure. Our salary ranges vary and are calculated based on work location. The starting pay range for this position across all the states we hire in is $89,865.00-$119,800.00.  This role also includes an opportunity for a company-wide annual discretionary bonus, through our Annual Incentive Plan (AIP), of up to 8% of eligible pay.
