Compensation Partner

Hartford, CT, Exton, PA, Atlanta, GA Dallas, TX, Chicago, IL; position can be remote

As the Compensation Partner, you will be a proactive business partner for specific business groups as well as responsible for providing additional support to the Global Compensation team on all compensation matters. You will take a lead role in supporting these businesses which includes but is not limited to client relations, compensation analysis and benchmarking, survey submissions, annual compensation process and ad hoc project management. This role provides strategic, data-driven guidance on complex and new compensation matters in a fast-paced environment. Your expertise will be pivotal in designing best-in-class compensation solutions, ensuring consistent administration in compliance with company policies and government regulations.

What you'll be doing

What will your essential responsibilities include?
  • Act as a consultant to HR and the business, delivering thorough and thoughtful guidance on compensation matters, including policies, procedures, the company's compensation philosophy, market pricing, internal equity, job evaluation, and job structure. Your insights will enable AXA XL to effectively recruit and retain top talent.
  • Partner with HR business partners, executive leadership and senior business owners on complex compensation initiatives, including large-scale redesigns, incentive plans, and pay equity projects. Develop tailored compensation strategies that support business growth.
  • Collaborate with the HR Business Partners team and the business to ensure adequate support and information for planning, analysis, and review. Prepare complex compensation offers ensuring market competitiveness and internal equity.
  • Translate complex compensation and workforce data into clear, compelling narratives that support executive level decision making
  • Maintain awareness of emerging AI and data analytics trends to continually enhance compensation strategies and processes. Drive automation of routine compensation processes through AI and technology solutions, reducing manual effort and increasing accuracy.
  • Increase the use of analytics and insights to diagnose issues, elevate options and recommend solutions tied to business outcomes
  • Support the overall planning and execution of the annual compensation cycle including HR Business Partner and manager training.
  • Participate in the design and implementation of the compensation tool (HCM Cloud) and serve as a key resource for HRBPs and managers regarding system inquiries and troubleshooting.
  • Work alongside HR and managers on pool modeling, distribution, colleague recommendations, and management reporting.

What you will BRING

We're looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance or a related field is required. The ideal candidate will have relevant HR/Compensation experience.
  • Typically requires moderate level of relevant experience, including progressive compensation experience
  • Previous Financial Services experience and ideally knowledge of the insurance sector is preferred.
  • Extensive analytical and problem-solving skills with advanced working knowledge of MS Excel.
  • Possess professional skills and good judgement to establish trust and rapport at all levels of the organization, including Senior HR and Business Leaders.
  • Ability to work independently and lead initiatives as required, demonstrating effective project and time management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines and competing priorities
  • High degree of attention to detail with the ability to develop techniques for compiling, preparing, and presenting data.
  • Experience with using market data and various surveys globally.
  • Effective comprehension of local compensation issues and trends, with a working knowledge of global understanding preferred.
  • Experience with Oracle Fusion HCM or similar cloud-based HCM product knowledge preferred. Experience with AI/ML tools, data visualization platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau), or predictive analytics is a plus.
  • Capable of negotiating and influencing at all levels, including the ability to add value to senior level negotiations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; effective consultative/client service skills.
  • Experience working within a globally matrixed organization.

The U.S. base salary range for this position is USD $104,900 - 175,000.

Actual pay will be determined based upon the individual's skills, experience and location. We strive for market alignment and internal equity with our colleagues' pay.
