  • Collaborate with teams including Sales, RevOps, HR, Legal, and Accounting to align commission operations.
  • Create executive-ready summaries of key findings and proposed compensation changes.
  • Document commission policies and maintain internal knowledge base.

What we do:

The Trade Desk is looking for a detail oriented and analytically driven Compensation Operations Analyst to join our Commission Strategy and Analytics team. This role sits at the intersection of finance, sales, and operations and offers a unique opportunity to develop deep expertise in sales incentive compensation at a global scale. You will work closely with the Commissions team to support the accurate and timely execution of commission operations while developing analytical skills that contribute to broader compensation strategy.

What you'll do:
  • Support the end-to-end administration of commission payouts for approximately 1,500 commissioned employees ensuring accuracy and timeliness across quarterly cycles
  • Review and respond to internal commission inquiries and Jira tickets, resolving or escalating issues as appropriate while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and communication
  • Prepare detailed quarterly analyses explaining employee variance from compensation targets and quota attainment
  • Assist with financial modeling and scenario analyses related to the new commission plan including payout projections and seller motivation impact
  • Work cross functionally with teams including Sales, RevOps, HR, Legal, and Accounting to support commission operations and ensure alignment across the business
  • Create and maintain executive ready summaries of key findings and proposed changes to compensation structures
  • Document internal commission policies and processes through creation and maintenance of internal knowledge base articles
  • Support the rollout and ongoing administration of the new sales incentive compensation plan including communicating plan mechanics to sellers and resolving related inquiries
  • Templatize recurring analyses and presentations for global leadership
  • Assist with various ad hoc projects and analyses relating to compensation strategy and operations

Who you are:
  • 2+ years of experience in finance, analytics, operations, or a related field
  • Strong Excel skills with the ability to build and maintain complex models and analyses
  • Genuine curiosity about sales compensation, incentive design, and how commission structures drive business outcomes
  • Detail oriented with a high standard for accuracy especially when working with sensitive compensation data
  • Strong communicator who can translate complex commission concepts clearly to internal stakeholders at all levels
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced environment with competing priorities and tight deadlines
  • Self starter who takes initiative and asks the right questions
  • Experience with Jira or Anaplan is a plus but not required


In accordance with various US state laws, the range provided is the Trade Desk's reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may differ based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, and location. All employees may be eligible to become The Trade Desk shareholders through eligibility for stock-based compensation grants, which are awarded to employees based on company and individual performance. The Trade Desk also offers other compensation depending on the role such as variable compensation-based incentives and commissions. Plus, expected benefits for this role include comprehensive healthcare (medical, dental, and vision) with premiums paid in full for employees and dependents, retirement benefits such as a 401k plan and company match, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, well-being benefits, reimbursement for certain tuition expenses, parental leave, sick time of 1 hour per 30 hours worked, vacation time for full-time employees up to 120 hours thru the first year and 160 hours thereafter, and around 13 paid holidays per year. At the Trade Desk, Base Salary is one part of our competitive total compensation and benefits package and is determined using a salary range. The base salary range for this role is

$89,000-$129,000 USD
