Summary:

The Compensation Consultant is a key member of the compensation team with shared accountability for success of the function and team. The Compensation Consultant is an internal consultant and subject matter expert charged with building and sustaining relationships and providing the full-range of compensation services to our customers/organizational leadership. The incumbent partners with customers to create innovative, effective and sustainable solutions to customer challenges and concerns.

The Compensation Consultant routinely collaborates with colleagues including but not limited to HR Partners, Payroll, and IT to drive implementation and provide thought leadership related to compensation policy and practice. The Compensation Consultant educates, listens to, advises and guides customers on the risks, best practices and recommended approaches to challenges.

The Compensation Consultant, is an individual contributor that applies experience and judgement in assisting with the development and implementation of strategic initiatives, leading and overseeing the delivery of projects, coaching, counseling and assisting lower level analysts in the best methods for delivering compensation services.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, human resources or related area
    5+ years of progressive compensation experience
  • Advanced ability to analyze Data or Information - Identifying the underlying principles, reasons, or facts of information by breaking down information or data into separate part, develop models and/or proposals
  • Intermediate proficiency in the Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Visio). Advanced proficiency in Excel (e.g. v-lookups, pivot tables, and data visualization tools)
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas and findings in a clear and concise manner
  • Customer service orientation, willingness to listen, support, and assist
  • Familiarity with employment law, demonstrated proficiency in understanding and applying regulatory guidelines related to compensation, including FLSA and pay equity laws
  • Strong relationship management skills with demonstrated ability to partner with, coach and build credibility with senior leaders
  • Ability to influence direction and organizational decisions related to pay policy and practice
  • Strong Judgment and Decision Making - Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one

Licensure/Certification:
  • CCP preferred
