Join a high-performing Rail and Transit Communications Systems team where your technical expertise will shape complex transportation systems across Canada and beyond. In this role, you'll contribute to the delivery of heavy and light rail projects, provide technical leadership within the CAD team, and help define smarter, more efficient digital design practices that elevate project outcomes.

Your Impact
  • Produce high-quality CAD and BIM drawings that meet client, regulatory, and WSP standards across rail and transit projects
  • Lead the development of discipline-specific drawings, sections, schedules, and schematics from general arrangement designs
  • Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and day-to-day support to junior CAD Technicians
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, sub-consultants, clients, and agencies to deliver accurate, integrated designs
  • Review and back-check drawings to ensure quality, accuracy, and adherence to project timelines
  • Contribute to the development of standard blocks, model libraries, and automated processes
  • Support project planning by helping define timelines, milestones, and delivery strategies

The Skills That Set You Apart
  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology or a related discipline from an accredited institution
  • 5-10 years of relevant CAD and REVIT experience, ideally within rail, transit, electrical, signals, SCADA or communications systems
  • Expert-level proficiency in AutoCAD and REVIT, with strong understanding of CAD standards and detailing practices
  • Proficiency with BIM environments considered an asset
  • Proven ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within project teams
  • Proven ability to take communications systems design concepts and create a design from the concept. This requires good working knowledge of Communication systems consisting of fiber optics, networks, and various subsystems that run on these networks. The various subsystems consist of CCTV, telephony, public address, SCADA, fare collection, BMS, train signals, and server and control rooms.
  • Strong communication skills with a high level of attention to detail and quality
  • Proficiency with collaboration and review tools such as Microsoft Teams and Bluebeam Revu

Compensation

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $89,800 - $118,900
MB & ON: $81,900 - $112,800
NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $81,100 - $107,700
