Title:

Communications Systems Engineer (DTRN/SCN Architecture Support)

KBR is seeking a Communications Systems Engineer to provide on-site DTRN/SCN Architecture support to Headquarters Combat Forces Command (HQ CFC) located on Peterson Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, CO.

A strong candidate can provide technical, engineering, and analytical support to HQ Combat Forces Command (HQ CFC) for Data Transmit and Receive Network (DTRN) and Satellite Control Network (SCN) modernization, architecture, and mission communications initiatives. Support Government decision-making through technical assessments, architecture reviews, stakeholder coordination, and strategic recommendations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review DTRN and SCN modernization efforts, R&D initiatives, requirements documents, and proposed architecture changes.
  • Analyze communications architectures, infrastructure modernization efforts, and mission impacts; develop recommendations and courses of action for Government leadership.
  • Participate in design reviews, specification reviews, readiness reviews, and configuration audits.
  • Coordinate with HQ CFC, Space Systems Command (SSC), DISA, DITCO, communications squadrons, and other stakeholders.
  • Develop technical assessments, briefings, recommendations, meeting minutes, and decision-support products.
  • Host and attend meetings; track action items, decisions, risks, and issues.
  • Support communications network modernization, circuit lifecycle management, infrastructure planning, and mission assurance activities.
  • Travel may be required for limited durations to support Customer events.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • An active TS/SCI clearance is required to be considered for this position, which is something only a U.S. citizen can obtain.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Experience providing technical analysis, strategic recommendations, and decision-support products to Government customers.
  • Experience supporting communications networks, telecommunications infrastructure, systems engineering, or enterprise architecture efforts.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Desired:

  • Master's degree in a related technical discipline.
  • Experience supporting HQ CFC, Space Systems Command (SSC), DTRN, SCN, DISA, DITCO, AFNET, or other DoD communications programs.
  • Experience with network modernization, legacy circuit transitions, telecommunications engineering, infrastructure planning, or communications architecture.
  • Knowledge of MILCON projects, data center migrations, and network boundary integration.

Work Environment:

  • Location: On-site at Peterson SFB, CO
  • Travel Requirements: Minimal 0-20%
  • Working Hours: Standard

Scheduled Weekly Hours:

40hrs

Basic Compensation:

$115,000 - $130,000

This range is for Colorado only.

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
