Title:

Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) Planner – LNG Project

KBR is looking for anAdvanced Work Packaging (AWP) Planner to support a major LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) project. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development, coordination, tracking, and maintenance of Engineering Work Packages (EWPs), Construction Work Packages (CWPs), Procurement Work Packages (PWPs), and Installation Work Packages (IWPs) to support efficient and predictable project execution.

The AWP Planner will serve as a key interface between engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and project controls teams to ensure that work packages are developed in alignment with the project's Path of Construction (POC), construction schedule, and field execution requirements.

This position is ideal for a highly organized professional with experience in LNG, petrochemical, refinery, power generation, or other large capital projects utilizing Advanced Work Packaging and WorkFace Planning methodologies.

Functional job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Support implementation and execution of the project's Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) program.

  • Develop, maintain, and track:

    • Engineering Work Packages (EWPs)

    • Procurement Work Packages (PWPs)

    • Construction Work Packages (CWPs)

    • Installation Work Packages (IWPs)

    • Turnover and commissioning work packages

  • Coordinate with engineering teams to ensure design deliverables support construction sequencing and package readiness.

  • Work with procurement and materials management teams to verify material availability and readiness for package release.

  • Support development and maintenance of the project's:

    • Path of Construction (POC)

    • Construction Work Areas (CWAs)

    • System and subsystem boundaries

    • Package execution plans

  • Assist in developing detailed work packages that provide craft labor with all required information, including:

    • Drawings

    • Specifications

    • Material availability

    • Equipment requirements

    • Safety requirements

    • Construction procedures

    • Quality requirements

  • Track package constraints and coordinate resolution with project stakeholders.

  • Monitor engineering, procurement, and construction readiness to support field execution.

  • Participate in package review meetings, readiness reviews, and construction planning sessions.

  • Coordinate with project controls to integrate package status, progress, and forecasting into the master schedule.

  • Generate package status reports, readiness dashboards, and productivity metrics.

  • Support commissioning and turnover planning efforts by coordinating system completion requirements.

  • Identify opportunities to improve work packaging effectiveness, construction productivity, and schedule performance.

Ensure compliance with project AWP standards, procedures, and best practices

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related technical discipline; equivalent construction experience may be considered.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience supporting industrial construction projects.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience with Advanced Work Packaging (AWP), WorkFace Planning (WFP), project planning, or construction coordination.

  • Experience supporting LNG, petrochemical, refinery, gas processing, power generation, mining, or heavy industrial projects.

  • Strong understanding of:

    • Advanced Work Packaging (AWP)

    • WorkFace Planning (WFP)

    • Construction Work Packages (CWPs)

    • Installation Work Packages (IWPs)

    • Construction sequencing

    • Construction readiness

    • Constraint management

    • Project scheduling and planning

    • Mechanical completion and turnover processes

  • Proficiency with project planning and scheduling tools.

  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documentation.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and coordination abilities.

  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct LNG project experience strongly preferred.

  • Experience supporting large LNG export terminals, liquefaction facilities, or regasification terminals.

  • Working knowledge of Primavera P6, InEight, Smart Construction, Hexagon, Power BI, or similar project execution platforms.

  • AWP Certification Institute (AWPCI) certification or equivalent training.

  • Experience with modular construction, fabrication yards, and large-scale industrial projects.

  • Familiarity with commissioning, turnover, and startup planning.

  • Experience supporting projects exceeding $500 million in total installed cost.
