Job Title: Manager, Enterprise CommunicationsDepartment: Communications & Public AffairsLocation: Washington DCReports To: Global Head of Enterprise Communications and Public AffairsPosition SummaryThe Manager, Enterprise Communications is responsible for shaping and executing Xylem's external narrative through clear narrative, messaging and storytelling to deliver high-impact, earned media and executive visibility. This role works closely and collaboratively across a highly matrixed global organization to lead enterprise-level storytelling that builds authority, trust, and visibility in top-tier media and among key stakeholders. The position focuses on translating business strategy into media-ready narratives, driving agenda-setting news moments, and positioning senior leadership as credible, visible voices. This role plays a critical part in establishing Xylem as the most authoritative voice in water.
Key Responsibilities- Drive agenda-setting news moments securing Tier 1 and business media coverage aligned to business priorities
- Build and maintain relationships with top-tier journalists and priority media outlets and lead and develop media pitches
- Partner with internal stakeholders across a matrixed organization and manage and work closely with agency partners
- Drive consistent application of communications guidelines and processes across enterprise activity. Analyze and report on execution performance
- Manage crisis and reputation matters
QualificationsRequired- Education: Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field
- Experience: 8+ years in corporate communications, public relations, or media relations in a Fortune 500 company. PR agency experience preferred.
- Skills:
- Excellent writing and storytelling expertise and ability to secure high-level earned media results
- Ability to translate complex business strategy into clear, compelling narratives
- Customer focused and proven ability to navigate matrixed organizations
- Strong proficiency in leveraging A.I. tools to improve speed, quality, and efficiency
Preferred- Must be based in Washington DC. Relocation not available
- Experience in B2B, industrial, infrastructure communications
- Crisis and reputation experience
- Strong network across Tier 1 business and trade media
- Familiarity with AI tools for communications workflows
- Experience supporting global or multi-market communications strategies

The salary range for this position is $85,000 to $100,000 plus bonus. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience, and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.
