Job Description

Plans, manages, and evaluates company-wide communication strategies to ensure effective communication to employees, shareholders, and the community. Works with various business groups and senior management to develop and implement strong communication plans that will assist in meeting company goals and objectives. Evaluates complex information and strategically determines appropriate method of communication based on topic and company goals. Edits internal and external publications, writes speeches and provides media support. Represents U.S. Bancorp at various community, business, and educational events. May provide project management for special communication efforts, including acquisitions and divestitures.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience

  • Ten or more years of experience in communications activities

  • One or more years of supervisory/management experience

 

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Strong communication management skills, including excellent verbal and written communication

  • Background in journalism or demonstrated use of journalistic techniques to research, analyze, and synthesize complex information, conduct interviews, and shape clear, engaging narratives

  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, operate independently, and drive work forward from concept through execution

  • Strong strategic thinking skills, with the ability to anticipate needs, connect broader business context, and shape communication strategies that support enterprise goals, while influencing and negotiating with internal and external stakeholders

  • Well-developed organizational and project management skills

  • Experience using generative AI tools to improve productivity, content development, and decision support

Location Expectations

This role is hybrid. Team members who are in a hybrid role typically spend three days a week at the listed U.S. Bank location(s), while having flexibility on their work location for the other working days.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $119,765.00 - $140,900.00
