Full Job Description
InfluxData is growing, and we're looking for a creative, curious, and driven Communications Manager to join our team. In this role, you'll help shape how the world sees InfluxData by translating our technology, vision, and customer impact into stories that matter.

You'll focus on developing and scaling InfluxData's core narratives, bringing together customer voices, real-world use cases, and product innovation into stories that resonate. From product launches to customer moments, you'll ensure we're telling clear, differentiated stories that connect with the right audiences.

You'll extend those stories across formats, from case studies and blogs to media opportunities, across earned, owned, and paid channels. PR is one part of this role, but the broader focus is on ensuring our stories show up consistently and effectively wherever our audience is. You'll also support analyst relations and social media efforts, including managing our external agency, to ensure strong execution across key moments.

This is a highly cross-functional role and an opportunity to shape how InfluxData shows up across an evolving communications landscape. Our team values curiosity and experimentation, from exploring new channels and storytelling formats to thoughtfully testing emerging tools, including AI, as part of how our work.
Responsibilities:
  • Own the day-to-day management of InfluxData's PR program, including media outreach and securing coverage
  • Support strategic comms initiatives around product launches, customer and partner announcements, and executive visibility
  • Incorporate customer stories and use cases into broader company narratives across channels
  • Develop press releases, articles, pitches, Q&As, and other strategic assets for announcements
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Product, Marketing, Developer Relations, and Executive Leadership) to uncover and develop compelling stories across time series, open source, physical AI, IIoT/IoT, and more
  • Support the analyst relations program by coordinating briefings, tracking inquiries, and helping shape messaging
  • Assist with social media planning and management of the external agency, ensuring message alignment and amplification of key launches and moments
Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of experience in product communications, ideally with B2B agency experience
  • Strong writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate technical topics into clear, compelling narratives
  • Experience supporting customer storytelling (media outreach, case studies, content, or campaigns) is a plus
  • Strong instincts for what makes a story land, knowing how to shape a narrative for media, social, and owned channels without losing the core message
  • Able to quickly get up to speed on technical topics and turn them into clear, compelling stories that people actually want to read
  • Highly proactive and accountable: you take ownership, move things forward, and don't wait to be told what to do

Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis.
