Full Job Description
Amazon is seeking a high-judgment, strategic, and creative communications professional to join our International Stores and Corporate Communications (ISCC) team in Canada. This role will be based at Amazon's Toronto Hub (YYZ18), with frequent travel to Amazon sites across Canada. This role reports to the Head of Communications, Amazon Canada, and helps to build and maintain Amazon's reputation.

This role is part of a global team, working with experts from around the world as part of the International Stores and Corporate Communications team - at the forefront of building and protecting Amazon's reputation, communicating stories that showcase how Amazon creates a positive impact for customers across Canada, creates opportunities for employees, invests in the economy, and contributes to local communities across the country.

Amazon's physical presence in Canada includes our corporate offices, technology hubs, and operations network - such as fulfillment, sortation and delivery sites - in communities coast to coast. This Communications Manager will own the communications strategy for how Amazon shows up in Canadian communities, with a particular focus on employer and workplace brand.

Key job responsibilities
• Own and drive proactive communications strategies for Amazon in Canada - including operational milestones, delivery innovation, workforce programs, and the stories of the people and communities connected to Amazon's growing infrastructure footprint
• Lead earned media relations at the local and national level for workplace-related announcements, building relationships with reporters, content creators, and community leaders where Amazon operates
• Build trust with a wide range of senior internal stakeholders, providing ongoing advice and counsel, and helping to develop communications strategies to support business objectives
• Develop and write news releases, media advisories, pitches, talking points, and related communications materials, as well as non-traditional media, social, influencer and paid communications opportunities
• Manage reactive issues related to Amazon's presence with high judgment and professionalism
• Provide communications counsel to operations and business leaders at the site and regional level
• Collaborate with broader ISCC Canada communications colleagues and international peers to ensure alignment and share best practices
• Serve as a spokesperson for Amazon as required

A day in the life

No two days look the same. You might start early, comparing notes with communications colleagues in Europe and around the world, then prep an executive for a national interview. Mid-morning, you join business leaders to present your ideas for landing an upcoming announcement. Later, you're drafting a media release, shaping a social and influencer plan, and building relationships with reporters and community leaders from Vancouver to Halifax to Montreal. When a reporter calls on deadline, you bring calm judgment and a fast, fact-based response. Throughout, you're shaping Amazon's reputation as an employer, builder, and community partner across Canada.
