JOB DESCRIPTION

Join our dynamic Commodities Structuring team, where you will play a pivotal role in developing and executing innovative commodity-linked solutions. You will work closely with our global partners across banking, sales, trading, risk, legal, and research to support corporate and institutional clients in meeting their complex financing and risk management objectives. This role offers an exciting opportunity to leverage your analytical skills and market knowledge to drive impactful transactions and contribute to the growth of our commodities business.

Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Transaction Support: Assist in the development, structuring, and execution of commodity transactions, including prepayments, inventory financing, and structured derivative solutions. Provide comprehensive support throughout the transaction lifecycle, including due diligence, negotiation, execution and ongoing transaction support.
  • Client Engagement: Collaborate with clients to understand their specific needs and objectives, and design bespoke solutions that align with their risk tolerance and financial goals. Provide market information and transaction ideas to meet clients' risk management and/or physical objectives.
  • Point person on analyses: Point person on transaction modeling and quantitative analyses, providing support to senior team members. Synthesize outputs into client-ready materials.
  • Interface with Control Functions: Collaborate with control functions to receive required approvals and anticipate transaction risks, particularly those specific to physical commodities. Drive dialogue and supporting analyses to ensure compliance and risk mitigation.

 

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • Prior working experience in the commodity space, including energy, metals, or ags sales and marketing. 
  • Superior attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to translate complex financial concepts into simple terms and actionable steps.
  • Strong Excel skills, ideally with asset-level modeling.
  • Expertise in Powerpoint.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information concisely and clearly.
  • Strong team player who partners well with colleagues and can work with a diverse group of stakeholders through various stages of the deal process.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • Experience with physical commodities highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of credit and market risk.
  • Ability to work independently and drive processes with minimal oversight or direction.
  • FINRA Licenses (i.e., Series 7, 79, 63).
